Hey, I'm glad you stopped by to check on me. Those who follow DFB realize that if I haven't posted in a while, something must have happened. Well, it has.
For some time, I have been concerned about my health since becoming my husband’s only caregiver for the past year and not being able to get proper rest. This led me to a few specialists who did a slew of tests.
In early summer (2022) I received a diagnosis from a surgical biopsy. The doctor stated I would need additional surgery to have a tumor removed based on the diagnosis that she was 99.9% sure it was “C” (something I did not expect to hear).
Having received the news, my faith was surely being tested and wondered if I could truly “count it all joy” as this trial was about to begin (James chapter 1). I even questioned how could this be God’s “perfect work” in me as I secretly tried not to accept the report I was given as the will of God for my life.
The surgery was finally performed on August 15th with the doctor having to go back in three times. Following the procedure, the surgeon was confident that she was able to “get it all” and that she does not feel I would require radiation or chemotherapy. At the end of August, the stitches were removed with a follow-up in a few months.
In the meantime, my husband had become severely sick. Trying to recover, my resistance was low and I too wasn’t feeling well. The grace of God has helped me through it all. Besides being extremely tired and having a deep cough, I am recovering quickly thanks to faithful prayer warriors like you!

I sincerely apologize for not being able to stay in touch, and pray as the Lord restores my strength that I will be able to resume my writing shortly. I miss you all so much and look forward to what God has in store for us in the future.

Hello Friends! It's been almost three months since my surgery and I am pleased to report that I've been healing quite well. Aside from still being tired and having trouble sleeping, I feel good and am slowly returning to some regular activites/duties.
Daily I am reminded and proclaim the encouraging words my faithful friend and prayer warrior Jahmadar said to me,
"That letter "C" also connotes ... Creator ... Calvary ... Christ ... Conqueror ...Chosen ... the Called (according to His purpose)."

Just a quick update on what's been happening. There were more "things" removed but all went well thankfully. My healing has been going well with a good report from the doctor this week.

Hey all, I'm so grateful that you are visiting and sharing Daily Favor faithfully. You are so wonderful in understanding how I haven't been able to post as often as I'd like since caring full time for my husband.
I've been so blessed working in the garden when I can through this very hot summer as it is a good stress release for me. It's strange though having to work at night to avoid the sun, but I've also enjoyed the quiet evenings. If I can get my photos uploaded from my phone somehow I'd love to share my garden blessings with you. Pray that I can. I have tons!
Anyway, while carrying some rather large pots, somehow I injured my hand and now have what's referred to as a "trigger thumb finger", which is extremely painful. Basically, the fingern"clicks" or "locks" when bending due to swelling or damage, causing the tenden not to fit in the protective sheath covering, resulting in then finger getting stuck in the wrong position.
The technical term for Trigger Finger aka: Stenosing Tenosunovitis
In order for it to heal without surgery, I have to wear a splint/brace for several months. Depending on the seriousness, it can take from three months to over a year. Ouch! Hopegully, that won't be the case as I am being very mindful in prayer and duty of how to do things one handed.
This Saturday (10/7) it will be three weeks since the incident happened, and I can tell you it's quite difficult to do even the simple things without using your thumb! Just try it ...
Who knew that little digit was such a BIG deal, especially in washing dishes, ugh ... typing or putting your hair up in a ponytail? As for eating ... it's a challenge to eat a sub, even if it is vegetarian! LOL
