Good Friday - Trial, Cruxifixion, Burial Jesus was crucified on a cross in Golgotha known as the Place of the Skull, which was located outside of Jerusalem, and then laid in a tomb.
Golgotha means place of the skull in Aramaic, and is Latin for calcaria. It is translated in English as Calvary, the place where Jesus was crucified.
