2018 News from Fay Archives

News from Fay 2018 Archives

It's been a very long time since I've been able to make this statement ...

We've had such a wonderful holiday season with so many new adventures for making treasured memories.

I was even able to get hubby to go see the Nutcracker.  Granted it was a children's more fun version, but on the plus side he only fell asleep once (maybe twice)!

The season isn't over just yet, and Lord willing he'll get to see that trains display at a local museum.  It's the least I can do after he sat patiently through the Nutcracker AND The Christmas Skates play!

Working with our Favored Pets Rescues is always rewarding yet challenging. January 1st of this year began with sadness with the passing of one of our beloved rescues. It continued with 24 hour care of our precious Golden Nugget for six months before she left for Heaven as well.

Along with caring for others one more was brought into the "litter" in October being rescued from the Walmart garden center.  He's doing quite well and follows me like a puppy.

Sadly two more rescues (senior-seniors sweet Little Girl and Lynos) joined Jesus on December 29th (twenty minutes apart).

During all this my husband has had some ups and downs with his health, my books are still simmering on the burner but at the boiling stage, and the super project that I've wanted to share with you isn't nearly as far as we expected.

We did get another camera, but cannot get it to load on the computer.  When we do beware - there are lots I want to share with you! (Bummer, you didn't even get to see how my luffas did this year!)

Even though things haven't gone as we've planned, God has been with us granting favor in areas where none would have been given.  There were so many things that were left undone this year, but we've trusting in the Lord that His ways are higher than ours and His timing will bring the best for our lives.

My husband and I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have remained so faithful to us on DFB, especially in sharing it with your friends and family on social media.  You have been such a comfort and joy fulfilling the scriptures in loving one another as Christ has loved us.

I'd like to leave these words of encouragement with you much like the Apostle Paul did with the church in Philippi.  As the year comes to an end, focus on the blessings that you have already received and press on looking forward to what God has planned for your future.

Over the coming months my desire and hope to bring fresh insight on how much God loves to pour out His favor on the church.  (Subscribe and be notified of new posts.)  I pray that you continue on this journey and that we all keep growing in favor with God and man daily.

We love you and hope you join us on Daily Favor Blog in 2019!

Until next time, favored blessing for the New Year!

"Yesterday's" News .....

Is it just me or have you noticed that Christmas can be a selfish time? Hey, I'm right up there on the top of the list when it come to trying to get everything done before the 25th of December.

What I mean is that so often we focus on things that relate only to ourselves.  For instance, we tend to think mainly about how to decorate, what to buy and how we can fit twenty people around our dining table for dinner.

There's nothing wrong with those things except that we might be leaving a ton of people out in the cold when it comes to our gatherings.  Does the orphan, widowed, single, lonely or all alone individual cross your mind when preparing for Christmas Day?

This holiday season will you consider spending an evening with one person in particular that may be alone or grieving?  Visit them, bring a gift, spend time looking through photo albums being attentive to their stories.  Sing some carols and show the love of God that came to earth on Christmas Day when Jesus was born.

During this time of togetherness, let others see the Christ child through you.  Share with them about the promise of seeing loved ones again because they are in Heaven with the Lamb of God.   Guide them in biblical truth that they too can have renewed joy and hope by receiving Jesus as their Savior.

Also be sure to check out my latest teaching article on Christmas titled: No Time for Christmas, then please share it.

Until next time, favor spending time with others.

"Yesterday's" News .....
So … how is your holiday season coming along? Everything going as planned?  Probably not, just like things have been around here.

There has never been a time such as this, or has there been?  If you had a choice would you have three dentist appointments on the same day?  Of course not, neither would I but it happened due to an emergency.

Just another thing that wasn’t in the schedule and made no sense; but friends, sometimes we don’t get to know the whole story in advance when it comes to God’s plan.

This week I saw a post from a church that canceled all its services until January because of the “busyness of the season” on the congregation. How sad I thought, especially this time of the year when people are vulnerable and receptive to hearing the Christmas gospel message.

I can tell you this, God will never shut us out or cancel His plans.  He loves us so much that He sent messenger angels to proclaim good tidings of great joy for all people.

No matter how busy or scattered things may get, keep yourself open for God's favor by making sure He isn’t left out in the cold. Invite Him into your life, schedule and plans.  His angels just might have some good tidings of great joy to proclaim over you too!

Until next time, stay open for favor.

"Yesterday's" News .....
What a super filled week it's been with travel, car engine troubles and hubby's doctor appointment.  Thankfully the Lord answered our prayers. Like a shield He kept us safely surrounded by His grace and favor. (Psalm 5:12)

Friends, I’m taking time off from my online commitments for administrative work during World Teacher's Week, followed by enjoying the Columbus Day holiday weekend with my husband.

Lord willing next time I’ll be sharing something a little more personal with you.

“Having gifts that differ according to the grace (favor) given to us,
let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service,
in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching …”
(Romans 12:6-7 ESV)

BTW - You all know how I like celebrating holidays, but here's a thought:

October 5th is National Do Something Nice Day, but shouldn't that be a daily thing for a believer?
Just saying ...

“Put on therefore, as God’s elect, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness (be nice), lowliness, meekness, longsuffering; forbearing one another, and forgiving each other; if any man have a complainst against any; even as the Lord forgave you, so also do ye: and about all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfectness." (Colossians 3:12-14 ASV)

Until next time, favor doing nice things every day!

Can you believe that it's already fall?  The year has flown by and I still have so much more I'd like to do!  What about you?

Something my husband and I love to do in the fall is travel to the New England States, with long visits throughout New York to see the changing of the leaves.

By the way, did you know that September 21st is #NationalNewYorkDay?  A "favor"- ite vacation place of mine, since my parents and most my relatives are from there.  If you have never been to New York, put it on your bucket list and make sure to give yourself plenty of time to visit all around the beautiful state.

Our dear hubby "Pippi",has had some swelling in his leg, but I believe it's because he took of his "Pippi" stocking!  I think that's going to change real soon. LOL

Friends, God has some wonderful things in store for you, so get your heart ready to receive His abundant blessings.  Enjoy the season change and
prepare for showers of favor to come your way.

"... I will cause the showers to come down in their season; there shall be showers of blessings (of good, insured by God's favor)."

Until next time, Lord let a season of favor come!

P.S. This week I had another eye doctor's appointment; actually it was a follow-up for testing.  We're believing God for favorable results!

"Yesterday's" News .....

It's been a rather strange week where I haven't been able to get done nearly as much as desired.  The stormy weather was one thing; praise God we're okay.

For the better part of the week hubby has been trying to fix the computer so we can upload pictures.  We haven't been able to do that since last October!  Plus he's still trying to retrieve my notes for my writing in progress articles.  This meant he's been on the telephone with the computer people to walk him through it all.  We're not there yet, but praying God will work it out in our favor.

Then yesterday I was finally able to use the computer, but as I began writing this week's post the eye doctor called saying there was a cancellation.  Well, that was good and not so good news.

Yes, I wanted the appointment because I was scheduled for the end of November, which is right at the beginning of the holiday season.  However, this also meant they would be putting drops in my eyes to dilate them so I wouldn't be able to post as usual ... again!  BUT ... I'm a happy wife being so blessed with favor for this change.

As for hubby "Pippi", he is doing much better on his leg.  Speaking of husbands, men I've got you covered in reminding you that this Sunday is National Wives Day!

"He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the Lord!" (Proverbs 18:22 NKJV)

"See" (pun intended) you soon.

Until next time, a godly wife brings favor to her husband!

"Yesterday's" News .....

This summer is flying by and it seems that I still have so much to share, but let me give you just a few notes to catch-up on what's happening at the moment. Actually there are two main things.

First, my computer still has me on a lock-down!  If any of you have ever had your computer lock you out you can relate to all this.  In the beginning we thought that it was something the cats did, like walking on the keyboard for the umpteenth time.

Gladly it wasn't them but Windows 10!  Have I mentioned I don't like Windows 10?  Well, there I said it.  I don't.

Come to find out it has issues with me not wanting some of its automatic programming and feels I need gaming, Netflix and news updates ... this for a person who doesn't have television hook-up or a smartphone!

Now it has decided not to accept Windows or Word either, so there is no access to my articles or writing files.  If any of you have had this happen please contact me as to how you solved it.

Hubby has been saving files on a flash drive before they can go in and fix the problem.  Sure, it will let me save a file I can't open - ugh!

Some files take what seems to be forever. One file alone said it would take 55 hours to complete the process.  Oh well ...

On to the second thing in the news - at our house anyway.  Several weeks ago I mentioned an update on hubby, but couldn't give you any details because we were waiting on the hospital.

We now have information so pop over to Hubby Update for the details.  Remember to scroll to the bottom for the latest news.

You mean so much to us, and we love you for your faithful following and daily favor in prayer.

Until next time, may God favor your faithfulness.

"Yesterday's" News .....

Tossing a ball around and playing catch is one of the things my husband and I have in common, which is another reason I enjoy National Play Catch Week.

Hubby has never had to drag me to a sporting event, and I’ve been honored in throwing out the game ball for the Phillies twice when our team(s) won the championship.

To look at me you might not think I was much into sports, but that would be far from the truth.  My husband and I coached boys Little League for fourteen years and I’ve coached a few women’s ball teams in my time.  The thing is, during all those years what exactly was I “sporting” when it came to my faith in Christ?

One way I show my allegiance to something whether it is a sport or something else, is in the items I select to wear.  As a Christian counselor some of my choices may not have been the wisest if you know what I mean.  Like …

“Let me drop what I’m doing and focus on YOUR problem.”

Yeah, that's probably not something I should wear during a session don't you think?

Thankfully, because of the changes I made over the years I’ve “grown” in my faith allowing God to grow favor in me with Him and man.  This week I’d like us to share some things about what we are wearing, along with the funky t-shirts we give our Dad’s for Father’s Day.  How can something as simple as a piece of clothing prevent us from “Catching Favor” from the Lord?

Read more about some of my sporting highlights on the Daily Favor article Wear and Share.

Until next time,  God’s favor is always in the ballpark.

June ... the perfect month for weddings (so I've been told).  Maybe that's true but God honors biblical marriage no matter what month of the year they are held.

The truth is marriage has a lot in common with all our relationships and sometimes we bring tons of baggage into them.  If you were to think about it, do you have any "stinky" relationships headed for the dumpster?  How sweet is the aroma of love in your life currently?

For more insight about what the aroma of our heart should be if we are to receive God's favor on our relationships read Daily Favor relationships article Sweet Aroma.

Whether or not you are a "gardener" everyone enjoys that results of those who toil over the soil in one way or another.

If we happen to be blessed with an area where we can grow things, it is important to make the most of what God gives us, including our gardens.

When we use our hands, time and material goods for God He will bless the work that is done in His name.

Here is an example of what may have been found originally in God's Garden in my neck of His world, through some creative people at an Artistic Fruits and Vegetables Competition.

For more insight about God's Garden of Eden read the Daily Favor series Life in God's Garden.

Whether or not you grew up with your natural family or not, God has blessed every individual with a “mom”; no one except Eve was born into this world without one.

The Bible has a lot to say about mother’s … some good and others, well … we know how that can be.

When I look for examples of what God perceives as a good mother, I don’t specifically look at those who gave birth.  On the contrary, I seek out godly women of the scriptures and sure enough many are indeed mothers who have given birth, some were surrogates or influential in their community.

This weekend the majority of America will be spending time with their families for Mother’s Day celebrations.  However, not everyone views this special day the same.  Those of us who were not given the gift of children are often left out and feel uncomfortable during the festivities.

Although we understand that every holiday isn’t designed to include each person on the planet, please be kind and compassionate to those who may attend any activities geared for such events as “Mother’s Day” banquets.

“For God shows no partiality (undue favor or unfairness; with Him one man/woman is not different from another). (Romans 2:11 AMPC)

That being said, in honor of all women who have contributed to the role of motherhood in some capacity, I’d like to share a memory from my childhood with you called Milkshakes, Mom and Me”.

Until next time, if you’re a mother you have found favor from God!
(Luke 1:30b)

Spring Favor is in the air ... I can feel it!

What a beautiful beginning to April don't you think?

Even though there have been loads of rain and storms, it doesn't compare to all the things the Lord has in store for us this season.

Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I declare;  Before they spring forth I tell you of them.” Isaiah 42:9

Hubby and I are in the beginning stages of our new project and despite all the hold-ups, we are pleased to start a "new thing".  One item checked off our list was the moving of the internet lines (which caused us to be off line for a while.)

I was able to get my luffa seeds planted and they are sprouting like wild; hopefully they will do well this year.  A second round of seeds were also started as a back up and we're praying for a good crop.

Speaking of "good", God is in the habit of doing good for His children, and if you aren't used to His abundant favor maybe it's because you haven't expected or looked for it in your life.  That needs to change.

As you enter into this season look for ways God is changing things around you ... for your favor.  He asks: "I'm doing a new thing in your life, don't you see it?"

“Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness
and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:19

Start expecting favor to sprout and grow as you seek the Lord.  His tender mercies (unmerited favor) are new each morning.  Begin each day talking to the Savior rejoicing in how you "can't wait" to see the "new thing" He's about to do in your life.

Until next time, expect seeds of spring favor to take root.

P.S. Looking over last week I was pleased to see so many new visitors to DFB.  Here are the top posts that were read if you're interested.

"Yesterday's" News .....

Today is Good Friday ...
a very special day in the life of a Christian, because it leads up to Resurrection Day or Easter Sunday.

Yes, it is the cross, where the favor of God literally changed the world and eternity for those who believe in Jesus Christ. (Read more on this topic.)

When preparing for this week I actually came across an article I wrote many years ago.  The post may be dated, but the message of the cross will never be.  I'd like to share it with you.

It's about forgiveness and where grace (undeserved, unmerited favor) of God meet.  Please read "At the Foot of the Cross - Where Forgiveness Begins" and share it with someone.

Although we have to come to the cross of forgiveness, we don't need to stay there because God's favor removes the sin that brought us to our knees in the first place.   Christ rose from the dead and conquered everything we will ever need to live in His Daily Favor!

Have a blessed Easter knowing you have been forgiven!

Until next time, there's favor at the cross!

P.S. Forgiveness isn't always easy, but it is possible with God.  Check out how here

"Yesterday's" News .....

Welcome Spring ...

I know it's a few days early, but I'm so excited to be getting out in the yard to plant my newest bulbs.

Along with veggie seeds, I hope to be starting my luffa plant seeds as well.  Not familiar with luffa growing?  Check out how to do it on my Hub Pages article called "Grow Your Own Luffa Sponge".

My computer .... well, can we skip that for the meantime?  Thanks.

This week I was reflecting back on times when I thought I heard from the Lord and when I completely missed Him.  Have you ever had that happen?  Just in case you are among those of us who have questioned "Was that God" or not, here are "Twelve Ways to Know if God is Speaking" to you.

Until next time, God's favor can be heard in His voice.

P.S. Thanks for sharing this and the trending articles to the right of this page.

"Yesterday's" News .....

Hello Friends,

Well ... we're still not there yet on the computer front, but I'm hopeful!

In the meantime hubby and I are about to start a project that is so exciting (for me anyway), and Lord willing I'll be able to share it with you. We'll be going to a convention that will help us in some of our decision making and believe God's favor will be on us throughout this undertaking.

It seems like it's taking forever to get things back in order.  Have you ever felt that way ... you know, when you feel everything is upside down on the home front?  Exactly!  What do you do when you fell like that?

Take a look ... God is at work in giving "Favor in Times of Nothing."

Until next time God's Daily Favor is always active!

P.S  Don't forget to keep up with the trending articles located at the right of the page.  Thanks in advance for sharing it at well!

"Yesterday's" News .....

Just a quick note to give you an update on where we stand on the computer front.

As you are aware I've been without the use of a computer since November (read about that here), and we attempted to get everything fixed, updated, etc.  However, the people that worked on the computer tried to transfer the old files into the new one, but failed to complete the project stating they couldn't do anything else.

Hubby has been diligent in trying to "take over" the process, but in doing so new programs have disappeared into the hard drive not being able to be retrieved.

Through friends at the Cardio Rehab Center that hubby works out at each week, God sent new people into our circle that say they can help us.  We are scheduled to have the computer serviced hopefully next week!

In the meantime don't forget to check out the trending article(s).  Keep us in your prayers and that all the programs, files, photos and my books are able to be retrieved in good order.

I miss you all so much, but trust the Lord is blessing you with His Daily Favor as you  faithfully serve Him and continue to share these teachings with others.

Until next time, God's favor remains faithful to those who seek Him.
