This presentation helps answer questions in a way that's easy to understand in a non-threatening environment.  Pastor Greg's excited to share the gospel message of hope in his terminology referred to as "frangelism".

F for friends, R for relatives, A for associates and N your neighbors!

This Week’s Challenge: Pray

It's great to be able to hold large meetings and go to concerts where people can learn about how much God loves them, but with a world-wide pandemic that's not happening right now.  Being able to unite these platforms in an unusual way is no less than a God favored thing!

God wants to use you for extraordinary things, but you'll need His favor to do it.  Show Him you're ready by helping to get the message out about this event.  You may not be able to participate in person, but perhaps you could share it on social media or by sowing a blog post for someone else's activity in the name of Jesus.

Something else you can do ... pray!  Would you join with us in praying over this event?

Pray for the favor of God to move on every detail of this project.

Pray that God will open hearts to be receptive to the Word of God.

Pray for those who are laborers in the project.

Pray that lives will be changed by the hope they find in Jesus Christ.

“So shall my Word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return unto Me void, but will accomplish that which I please, and it will prosper in the thing whereto I send it.” (Isaiah 55:11)

Until next time, hope in the Lord for His favor!

“Is your hope in Me or others for favor?”

Better Days Are Coming

Our lessons on the topic of covenant will resume soon, but right now I’d like to take the opportunity to thank you so much for continually showing support of Daily Favor in your visits, likes and shares.

The world is in desperate need of a Savior; they are searching the internet for answers and something to give them hope.  We are getting visits like never before from remote and restricted places around the world where the gospel is not permitted.  You have helped to make that happen!

I am thrilled to see what God is doing among and through His people.  It is encouraging that we can bring Living Water to a spiritually dry world, illustrating that Christ’s Kingdom is flourishing no matter what else is happening on this planet.

All of God’s creation is a wondrous rainbow of colors displayed through flowers (metaphorically speaking of mankind), and is a demonstration of His abounding love toward all people.  Beauty like this makes the “gardening for souls” experience all worth it … like in this short story.

Thanks for joining us on Daily Favor Blog.

Sighing or Singing

With so much going on in the world, prayer time was becoming burdensome.  Trying to cover all that I felt I needed to bring before the Lord was exhausting and unfulfilling.

Instead of feeling uplifted, I was emotionally and physically drained waiting for answers from the Lord; and someone please, please report good news for once!

I was casting my cares on the Lord, but more kept coming with phone calls, mail, messaging and the internet.  Instead of singing praises, I was sighing pitifully!

There was no way I could keep up with everything as well as dealing with my own issues. I sensed that complaining,  resentment, bitterness and ungratefulness were trying to overtake my thankfulness based on what I was facing.  My gratitude journal was noticeably receiving less and less entries over a short course of time.

Throughout the week I had to tame my tongue and lasso my words, before my thoughts became verbal giving the enemy a weapon to use against me. I even joked about it one day with my husband using a line the character Anne Shirley said in Anne of Green Gables:

"I know I chatter on far too much ... but if you only knew how many things I want to say and don't."

Now I wasn't speaking nasty things, but just voicing my disapproval of how my life was unfolding while I was trying to maintain a good attitude.  Recent health issues, hubby being in an accident with my car (which I cannot drive now), and the months without a bed were catching up on my back, curbing the amount of sleep I was actually getting.

The truth is, God has been doing wonderful things for us, including supernatural healing.

Basically, I was feeling a little sorry for myself, but soon snapped out of it and quickly repented after reading the monthly magazine we receive from the Voice of the Martyrs about the persecuted church.

It was getting late and I was preparing for bed. During an evening prayer, I heard that inner voice (not audible) ... a voice in my spirit saying, "Things will get better."

Not sure if it was God or my wishful thinking, I didn't take much stock in it at first or write it down as usual. I chalked it up to tiredness and mere self-encouragement or "preach to yourself" therapy as King David used to do.  I've learned to do this a lot over the years, and it always works, because it's based on the Word of God not my emotions or circumstances.

Then I heard it again the next night.  "Things will get better."  Standing in faith, it rekindled my spirit to stay in the fight as Paul said in the scriptures to young Pastor Timothy.

"Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses." (1 Timothy 6:12 NKJV)

What Gets You Through?

The following day I was able to share my "go to" verse  that I cling to during times of doubt, or in this case, a short mental lapse of God's promises.  This scripture is so dear to me that it's one I keep posted on my refrigerator.

I shared it with someone who was reaching out for help from dealing with postpartum depression and some other relational issues.  It turned into a list of over thirty people responding who needed the same Word from the Lord at that moment to get them through a situation.

Here's the verse of promise I used that renews hope.

"I would have lost heart (hope), unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living." (Psalm 27:13 NKJV)

Take a look at more descriptive words or phrases in various translations stating the depth of this kind of hope:

I would have fainted; fell in despair; what would have become of me; I am certain; confident; truly and really believe; I know, am expecting; have sure faith that I will see the Lord’s goodness.

These translations of the same passage really reach the heart of how we should respond when hope is fleeting.

“I’m sure now I’ll see God’s goodness in the exuberant earth. Stay with God! Take heart. Don’t quit. I’ll say it again: Stay with God.” (MSG)

“Yet I totally trust You to rescue me one more time, so that I can see once again how good You are while I’m still alive!” (TPT)

“I will move past my enemies with this one, sure hope: that with my own eyes, I will see the goodness of the Eternal in the land of the living.” (VOICE)

We have to move past the enemy and go directly to the promises of God concerning any matter.  There we will find hope and the wisdom needed to carry on through whatever the devil wants to throw at us.

The key to hope is believing, without that there's nothing to hold on to or receive by faith!  David said, "Unless I had believed!"

David knew he had to believe before he could see God's hand of favor move on a situation. He believed things would change in his life then ... while he was alive - "in the land of the living" here on earth!

“Where would I be if I did not believe I would experience the Lord’s favor in the land of the living?" (Psalm 27:13 NET)

Hope was not lost in David's heart, because He believed God's goodness in answering his prayers would be manifested.  Help would come at the right time and be exactly what he needed.

No matter what things look like in your life right now, you have to keep believing God will surround your situation with favor so that His glory and goodness are revealed.  Your part is to believe and let God work out the details you prayed for in hope by faith.

"For we walk by faith, not by sight." (2 Corinthians 5:7 NKJV)

This Week's Challenge:
Share Hope for Better Days

What reconnects you to the hope you've found through a relationship with God?  What do you do when you feel like quitting, but that inner voice or strength (the Holy Spirit) tells you to get up and keep going against the odds?

Whatever it is, you need to tell people so that they do not lose hope and succumb to circumstances, especially in these trying times.

We might not be able to gather as usual, but it doesn't mean we cannot encourage others and bring them hope that better days are coming.  How do we know that?  God's promises never fail, run out or expire.  If God said it, He will deliver on His Word.

As we praise God and share the goodness of His saving grace (love), we will find the favor we need in resolving our own issues as the Lord draws others to Him through our testimony.  We will see things get better in the land of the living!

"Praising God and having favor with all the people.  And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved." (Acts 2:47 NKJV)

This week share Daily Favor posts faithfully, pray that the Lord continues to use us for His glory in reaching every nation with the message of hope through Jesus Christ, and that more would come to know Him as their personal Savior and Lord.

Pray that through their discouragement they will find solid biblical teaching that renews hope, peace, safety, salvation and prosperity to their situation.  Encourage them that better days are coming; they simply must believe it.

Thank You Lord for allowing us to be a part of and enjoy Your beautiful works season after season. With hope in Christ Jesus we press on toward the high calling, gladly singing with joy as we watch and wait on You.

"Even the wilderness and desert will be glad in those days. The wasteland will rejoice and blossom with spring crocuses. Yes, there will be an abundance of flowers and singing and joy!

The deserts will become as green as the mountains of Lebanon, as lovely as Mount Carmel or the plain of Sharon.  There the Lord will display His glory, the splendor of our God." (Isaiah 35:1-2)

Don't lose hope, God will see us through ... better days are coming!

New Finishing Well Scripture Study Guide

Hello dear ones, I’ve got something special just for YOU!

For weeks I’ve been engaged in conversations about staying focused on vision, goals and being organized.  In general, these precious souls admitted to having issues sticking with things and are trying not to get discouraged so early in the year.

Maybe you’re already leaning in that direction, but truly want to run your own race and finish well for the Lord.  Well, that’s why I’ve compiled a list of over 100 verses to lead you back in the obedience direction you want to go in fulfilling your heart’s desires.

Thanks for joining us on Daily Favor Blog.
Be sure to SUBSCRIBE for the lastest news from Fay.

Let me tell you about this handy study tool!  The brief reference guide is a companion for the Daily Favor Blog lessons toward realizing your vision.

The scriptures will help you stay focused on organization, finishing the task and achieving goals to help finish the course set before you.  These verses aren't just for this year, but for the rest of your life!

Key verses are reminders as to why you need to complete what you start or already started and haven't finished.  There are even some that declare what happens when obedience to God’s plan goes out the window.  (Sorry - but we don't want to lose sight that there are consequences!)

Pick the scripture(s) that fit your situation and move on your heart, then write them out on index cards.  Post them around your home, office, work space or school locker to keep them before your eyes!

"But his delight and desire (the blessed individual) are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night."  (Psalm 1:2 AMPC)

My Key Verses Picks for Achieving Goals

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.”
Colossians 3:23 ESV

“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9 ESV

“You crown the year with Your bounty;
Your wagon tracks overflow with abundance.” Psalm 65:11 ESV

“I hasten and do not delay to keep Your commandments.”
Psalm 119:60 ESV

There are simple directions on “how to” use the verses in recognizing instructions from the Lord, and they are divided into three sections for easy access and convenience.  Besides, some people prefer old or new testament references for differing situations.  This should be of assistance for that.

It is my heartfelt desire that these passages for daily study motivate and encourage you to keep going after your dreams, desires and vision from God.

God is preparing you for great things, so don't give up or quit!  Print out the entire listing(s) and put them on your desk where you study, in your daily planner or Bible for quick access.

Daily Favor will come when you meditate on God's word day and night.  It is a promise from God that the Holy Spirit will grant favor, guidance and wisdom in directing you toward good (no - great!) success.

"Study this Book of Instruction (the Bible) continually.  Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it.  Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do." (Joshua 1:8 NLT)

Until next time, run your race with God’s favor!

“I will give favor for finishing well.”

The Road to Troas

Take the boxing gloves off and pick yourself up off the floor.  No need to keep beating yourself up over what did or didn’t happen last year.

I know, I know … this is something we never want to ask ourselves, but always do.  So, let me be the one who does the questioning to ease the pain of guilt or regret.

In review over your vision or goal list for last year, if you looked into your rearview mirror, did you accomplish all of them?  Half … some … even one? (Wait … don’t pick up the guilt gloves!)

Did you discover God’s plan didn’t quite match yours and your expectations hit the wall?  To tell the truth, that’s where I was, and in time spent with the Lord, He let me know exactly where I missed it.

Thanks for joining us on Daily Favor Blog.

When Go Turns to No

After time in biblical study I discovered plenty of people have walked that path of disappointment before me.  Do you know who else found himself in that situation?  The Apostle Paul, that’s right.  The Bible tells us what happened in the book of Acts.

He had planned his 2nd mission trip with Timothy who was joining him for training, when all of a sudden God put a hold on it.   The evangelic journey was scheduled through Asia as he headed for Bithynia.  Instead, God stopped him with no rhyme or reason Paul thought.

Every detail was set and prayed through with no doubts in the process.  He and Timothy were prepared; people were expecting them.  It just didn’t make sense that in an instant the “go ye” plan turned to a “no ye” one.  So then, Lord, what’s the problem?

For Future Generations of Favor

Has God ever said “no” to you by closing every door that was opened and you couldn’t figure out why?  Scripture reminds us that although we may make our plans, our steps are directed by the Lord.

“A man’s heart plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps.”
(Proverbs 16:9)

This is what seemed to be happening to Paul, that is except for something strange.  All opportunities closed but one … to Troas, which wasn’t even part of the plan.

Troas Lord?  Why Troas and not Bithynia?  There was no way Paul could have known what the future would hold, but God knows the end from the beginning.  He was placing people in position for future generations of favor and blessings on a larger scale that Paul couldn’t have imagined.

At the time it didn’t make sense, but Paul had to obey and Timothy watched this all play out for good and God’s glory.  His plan is far better than ours and the Apostle wasn’t about to fight with the Lord’s change in direction.

The Voice in the Night

The two cities were very different from one another (Bithynia and Troas that is), not only in culture and language but geographically it would make a big difference.  (Take a look at the above map.)  This was new to them and not where they thought they would be according to the schedule.

There have been many times when I became frustrated because some of my plans and goals have taken so long.  That's when the boxing gloves of guilt and regret emerge.

Over and over as I start questioning every step I’ve taken, wondering if I’ve had it wrong the entire time.  Like Paul, it is during those quiet times in the night when the Lord speaks clearly to our spirit.  If we are listening attentively, we will hear the Holy Spirit's voice speak to our spirit, giving direction and know this is His will over what we had previously planned or desired.

During the night in Troas, not the city of Bithynia, Paul had a vision of ministering to a man begging for help in Macedonia, Greece … a totally different place and continent!  He was anxious to get to the first destination, but God took him on a different path first … steps that would alter the course of history!

“So passing by Mysia, they came down to Troas, and a vision appeared to Paul in the night. A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, saying: Come over to Macedonia and help us.

Now after he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to
go to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us
to preach the gospel to them.” (Acts 16:8-10)

Paul didn’t waste time, but hopped on board a ship from Troas ports and traveled to Neapolis (now Kavala), which is a major eastern seaport in Macedonia.  He had to be where God was going to give him favor from the “future generations who would become” Saints.

Troas was where God launched Paul’s ministry of “go ye” and how the gospel was spread not only in Greece, but throughout all Europe.

There’s A Better Door

Although Paul’s mindset was Asia, God’s was for all of Europe and mankind.  Troas would be the doorway for the gospel and Christianity to be preached among Muslim nations.  It didn’t stop there either!

Eventually settlers would break free from other nations and travel to Plymouth Rock, yes to America where freedom of religion is practiced and enjoyed liberally!  That is … at this moment, but for how long will this door remain open to this blessing?

I can write and post this because of the grace and favor of God that began thousands of years ago, without traveling across an ocean or body of water like Paul did originally!  You are reading this because of that same grace!

What if Paul didn’t obey God and stayed in Asia, would I have ever learned about Christ’s saving grace or experience His favor daily?  How would I be able to proclaim or teach what I had not known in my own life?  Oh, but thankfully Paul did take that step of faith to journey with Jesus!

There is a bigger plan for all mankind and history, not just what is in front of you or me.  God is doing a different thing, He’s making it plain, 20/20 clarity for His vision.  Can you not see it?  It’s time to forget past failures and the unexplained closed roads.

“The LORD said, forget what happened long ago!
Don’t think about the past.  I am creating something new.
There it is!  Do you see it?  I have put roads in deserts,
streams in thirsty lands.” (Isaiah 43:18-19 CEV)

He Will Lead Us On

If we read stories throughout history it’s easy to understand why God changed events to fit His overall plan for salvation.  We read how people had their heart set on something, but God sent them down a different path changing direction of their destiny.

Someone once described it like this …

“God leads down a path we do not know
Upward He leads though our steps be slow
Though often we faint and falter on the way
Though storms and darkness obscure the day
Yet when the clouds are gone
We know that He leads us on.”
-Author Unknown

Maybe you’re frustrated over the past and even say, “This is not what I planned; I expected so much more and to be farther along in my goals.”

You may be confused about what God is doing, but He isn’t.  When God stops or blocks your plans, it’s because the favor and blessings He has for you are not where you think or expect.

If you recall, God didn’t reveal to Paul His plans until he arrived in Troas.  It wasn’t until Paul obeyed the first step that the Lord revealed another part or phase of the vision.

God is more interested in your obedience than you trying to figure things out on your own.  There is no way we can know how big the blessing is, we just have to trust Him in the journey.

Go with God’s plan, stop fighting, scratching and clawing against what He is telling you to do.  When we submit our plans to God, He will change them into something more than we could ask or think.

“Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this.  He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination!
He will outdo them all, for His miraculous power constantly
energizes you.”  (Ephesians 3:20 TPT)

Have You Settled in Bithynia?

We’ve all missed a turn or two down the road of life, but the journey still continued didn’t it?  Somehow, we got back on track and saw where we went wrong.

God showed me things I needed to take hold of and what to let go from the past if He was to bless the work of my hands.  He’s not closing doors to stop us from moving forward, but leading us to our own Troas, a place where there are open doors for greater favor, opportunities and blessings.

I’m going to keep asking the hard questions … Where is your vision?  How far along are you in where you want to be?  Have you set the path with God’s permission or is it one you want to travel alone?

There’s a better way if you let God lead you in the direction to take.  The path leads to joy in His Daily Favor and Eternal Presence!

“You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy;
at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” (Psalm 16:11)

This Week's Challenge:
What is your Bithynia & where is it leading you?
See, friends, we all have a Bithynia of sorts in our lives - a place and goal in mind, but they don’t always match God’s.  Spend time with the Lord and ask Him to reveal to you exactly where you missed it or what needs changing.  Don’t be discouraged if or when God changes your plans … it’s going to be okay!

Let me ask you again … What and where is your Bithynia?  Have you settled there, or are you willing to go on to the “Troas” God sets so His favor and plans can be established through you?  Who knows, it may be a road trip to Greece or even Paris, France, but if not it's still going to be the ride of your life!

Even though things aren’t exactly what I hoped for yet or where I planned to be at this point of my life, this is my prayer … it can be yours as well.

“Lord, I’m going to trust You and Your plans.  Somehow, someway I know what You have in mind is much better.  I submit to Your plan and timing, no matter how long it takes.  I choose to enjoy the journey and watch the goodness of the Lord unfold in my life.”

Whatever your goal or vision is, be prepared!  Never forget that if you are willing and obedient, God will always direct you to His path of favor… your road to “Troas”, the unexpected destination that is better than you can ever imagine.

For the Lord God is a sun and a safe-covering (shield).
The Lord gives favor and honor.  He holds back nothing good from
those who walk in the way that is right.  O Lord of all,
how happy is the man (person) who trusts in You!”
(Psalm 84:11-12 NLV emphasis mine)
