Follow along with is through the events and teachings for Holy Week beginning with Palm Sunday through Easter Sunday.
Walking through Holy Week Scriptures
Palm Sunday – The Triumphal Entry of Jesus
Matthew 21:1-11; Mark 11:1-11; Luke 19:28-44; John
12:12-19
Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a borrowed donkey as the
crowd welcomed Him saying “Hosanna” while placing their cloaks and palm
branches on the ground before Him.
Monday – Jesus Cleans the Temple
Matthew 21:13-22; Mark 11:15-19; Luke 19:45-48; John
2:13-17
Jesus drove out those who bought and sold at the temple
where He over tuned the tables.
Tuesday– Mount of Olives Discourse
Matthew 21: 23-24:52
Jesus taught in the temple using parables.
Wednesday – Preparing for the Passover Meal
The scriptures do not tell us what happened on Wednesday
that week, but we do know others things were transpiring such as the preparing
of the Passover (Seder) meal duties and the betrayal of the disciple Judas.
Matthew 26:14-16
Judas betrays Jesus for 30 pieces of silver; the price is
discussed in the Old Testament about the 10 plagues on Egypt from the exit of
the Israelites in Exodus chapters 7-12.
Thursday (Maundy Thursday) – The Last Supper, Gethsemane
Prayer and the Betrayal Kiss
Matthew 26:17-75; Mark 14:12-72; Luke 22:7-62; John 13:1-38
Jesus washed the feet of the disciples and celebrated the
Passover. This is where He gave the
meaning of the meal establishing the first communion and giving the new
commandment.
Although Passover is not a commandment for Christians but
began for the Old Testament Jewish nation, it is still observed among the Jews
and many believers as a fulfillment of the prophecy of Christ Jesus.
Later that evening He went to the garden of Gethsemane where
He was arrested by the Roman soldiers following the betrayal of Judas.
The term known as “Maundy” originates from the Latin work
“mandatum” meaning commandment, referring to the new commandment in John 13:34
that Jesus gave to the disciples at the Last Supper. “Love one another as I have loved you, that
you love one another."
Good Friday - Trial, Cruxifixion, Burial
Matthew 27:1-61; Mark 15:1-47; Luke 22:63-23:56; John 18:28-19:37
Jesus was crucified ona cross in Golgotha known as the Place of the Skull, which was located outside of Jerusalem, and then laid in a tomb.
Golgotha means place of the skull in Aramaic, and is Latin for calcaria. It is translated in English as Calvary, the place where Jesus was crucified.
Saturday - The Tomb
Matthew 27:62-66; Mark 16:1; Luke 23:56; John 19:40
Jesus' body was in a tomb, but He also went to Hell and took the keys to death from satan. He conquered death, hell and the grave. (Read Ephesians 4:8-9)
Jesus said, "I am He that lives, and was dead; and behold, I am alive for evermore. Amen, and have the keys of Hell and death." (Revelation 1:18)
Resurrection Sunday (Easter) - He is Risen!
Matthew 18:1-13; Mark 16:1-14; Luke 14:1-49; John 20:1-23
The rock at the entrance of the tomb where Jesus laid was rolled back. An angel told the news of Christ's resurrection declaring He is not here but has risen from the dead just like He said would happen.
*For those who trust in Jesus Christ, God gives the promise of life here but also the gift of eternal life (in Heaven; a Kingdom that cannot be shaken) as an inheritance of being His child. If you would like to have this gift also, click here to learn more.

Born to Receive Grace
Did you know that the word “grace” is mentioned in the
Bible almost 150 times in several aspects or contexts of the phrase or act? That’s
a fact, and so is this … Every person ever born will have received the grace of
God in their lives whether they realize it or not.
During my Bible reading I thought about all the people
who received the grace of God during the life work of Jesus while here on earth. This
doesn’t even count those who walked in the favor of God recorded in the Old
Testament.
The time period I want to talk about is around the end of
Jesus’ earthly ministry when He fulfilled His calling by the Heavenly Father. If you compared it to our times, to look at
what was happening you would think Jesus had won a world title with all the praise
He was receiving from “fans”.
“Christ
became human flesh and lived among us. We saw His shining greatness. This
greatness is given only to a much-loved Son, from His Father. He was full of
loving favor and truth.” (John 1:14 NLT)
The Passover Story
It seems almost poignant that the world would be
experiencing such harsh times as plagues, earthquakes, fires, tornadoes and devastation
that the Easter holiday is upon us.
Picture Jesus slowly entering Jerusalem riding a borrowed
donkey.The streets overflowed with
people anticipating the week long Passover (Pesach in Hebrew) feasts, parties
and gathering whatever they needed for the events at hand.
It’s a time where the Jews celebrated spring, birth and
the forty-year long Israelite journey from slavery out of Egypt to freedom as told
(mostly) in the Old Testament books of Exodus, Numbers and Deuteronomy.
Then there were the Jesus followers of that period – they
were filled with joy due to the grace that was shown them in healing, restoring
finances, relationships and so much more that isn’t even recorded!
“For
out of His fullness (the superabundance of His grace and truth)
we
have all received
grace upon grace (spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing, favor upon favor,
and gift heaped upon gift).”
(John 1:16 AMP)
The Forgotten Passover Story
Sadly, most of those people forgot about the grace of God
as noted in the Bible. I can give you an
example right up to the time of Christ’s death.
When Jesus entered Jerusalem, followers of the Lord laid palm
branches on the ground crying out,
“Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in
the name of the Lord!
The
King of Israel!”
Literally they were
shouting (when saying hosanna that is) save us now, I pray O LORD and send
prosperity. (Psalm 118:25)
Tracing back from the time spanning between the triumphal entry to the crucifixion of Jesus it was only a few days,
but boy did mankind have a change of heart!
It didn’t take long for them to trade in their loyalty
coats of what Jesus did for them.Whew …
one wonders if they really understood the grace they received, forgetting what the
Messiah did for them and witnessing all those miracles day after day too.
Although it’s easy to judge, let’s step into the present Jesus
followers. Have we truly grasped the
concept of God’s unmerited favor and grace?
Okay, what if I was to ask you this -How long does it take for you to forget when
someone has shown you grace or mercy? One week … one day … one hour?
Scary I know, it doesn’t seem like the first “Jesus followers” were that different
than us.
When we fail to demonstrate the grace of God that has
been given us, we have forgotten the New Testament Passover story also. It’s as if Christ’s dying on the cross to
redeem us from sin was of no effect and really wasn’t that big of a deal.
Thankfully by faith, when we repent of our sins, God’s gift
of grace is available and still in effect.Whether we receive it or not won’t change what Christ did and why He did
it.
“For by grace you (we) have been saved through faith,
and that not of yourselves; it is a gift of God,
not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
(Ephesians 2:8-9 NKJV)
This Week’s Challenge:
Practice Grace
For those who believe in Jesus Christ as the risen Son of
God, the next seven days starting with Palm Sunday, are referred to as Holy
Week.
As we prepare for Resurrection Sunday celebrations no matter where they will be, I’d like
for us to remember the grace of God that is ours because of the work of Jesus
on the cross.
Our
challenge this week is to be a vessel of grace in which God can use.First, we have to identify if there is any
recognizable sign of it before we can actually act on practicing grace
(unmerited favor) on anyone.
Next,
do a spiritual heart check-up on yourself. Is there evidence that you’ve been changed by saving grace (the favor of
God through salvation)?
Grace
can change a heart if we live like God’s love is for real. Believe you are forgiven by grace, then live like that (like you are
forgiven!) and it will be easier to show grace (give favor) to others.
In
these difficult times we especially want to live like, and show, Jesus to
the “least of these” the way scriptures teach in Matthew 25:31-45.Ask the Holy Spirit for help in living out
God’s grace so that everything points to the redemptive cross of Jesus.
With feeling a bit crowed from having everyone home due
to the pandemic, we reach our boiling points in frustration levels much quicker. So, let’s put these few guidelines into action
starting now.
When your children (or spouse for that matter) get into
mischief, don’t blow it out of proportion, but show them grace (cut them some slack). That may
even mean you have to leave the room for a few minutes to get a deep breath and
rethink the situation.
If your neighbor, co-worker, boss, friend or
spouse seems unruly or unfair, remember grace … they’re going through this
too, but may not be handling it the same!
While standing in line at the bank, check-out or deli (social
distancing acceptable at six feet or more), administer grace while being
patient. No one wants to wait, especially if someone next to them
may be harboring a disease.
You are the “experienced” example … remember, the Christ
follower others want to see!Be that
person Jesus trusted His favor to in forgiving you.
The world has never experienced anything of this epic
nature. We truly are in this together, and I’m not referring to the “high
school” kind of thing! This is real,
this has touched all of us on some scale and it isn’t over – yet!
No one needs to be pinned to the cross ever again for a
sin they’ve committed. Jesus already took care of it, so we can (must) live
by and through the eyes of His grace, giving favor to all
even if it’s undeserving.
The world is hurting and is desperately seeking help, begging
for someone to come save them from all that is happening. People are looking to believers for answers
and help that isn’t like what they can get on their own.
They want rest for a weary soul, and we can show them how
to receive it through Jesus by the way we act during any crisis. As in the days of Noah, the door for coming
to Christ is open, but for how long before God closes it?
We
can show the world that grace through love can be theirs too. Let this Holy Week be the start of your remembering the grace (unmerited
favor) of God for whatever sins you’ve committed in the past.
Remembering that we have been given the gift of
grace through salvation by believing in Jesus Christ, living examples of
God’s grace is what we want others see and receive from us.
In celebration of the love of Jesus who died for us on
the cross, and as followers of the Messiah, may our prayerful words reflect
those who first came to believe – “Hosanna, Jesus I pray, save us now and send
prosperity!”

you don’t know the Living God that I know, but would like to have this kind of
favor in your life also. Click on the above tab “Tell Me About Jesus” for more information

Our study in the scriptures takes us to the passage referred to as Palm Sunday– The Triumphal Entry of Jesus, where Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a borrowed donkey.
As the crowd welcomed Him, they shouted “Hosanna” while placing their cloaks and palm branches on the ground before Him, a jesture reserved only for the most high.
You can read the details of this event in these scriptures in the Bible: Matthew 21:1-11; Mark 11:1-11; Luke 19:28-44; John 12:12-19.
It has been several years since I first shared the message of the Passover Story, but the events of the world have stayed very much the same, verifying how accurate and true the Holy scriptures are.
Follow along with me on our journey through the most sacred week of the year for believers in Jesus Christ as the Son of God in the study Remembering Grace.
Until next time, favored Easter blessings!

Spring is my favorite season of the year. All week long my interest in new things coming
has repeatedly taken me outdoors. It’s
hard to be cooped up inside knowing that at any time there is going to be an
abundance of flowers popping out from the ground or tree blossoms waiting to be cut for a
beautiful bouquet.
More and more people emerge from winter hibernation to
see what is happening all around them. Something different is in the air.
Why does the season change make people want to start over
when things around them look glum? It’s
because God has implanted in each of us hope, and springtime means there’s a
set time of favor about to burst forth.

you and how Daily Favor has worked in your life.Contact me by leaving a message in the box at
the bottom of this week’s post.
I think that most people are in the habit of setting
their clocks for one reason or another. My clock is set to go off six times a day,
not including special appointments or dates I need to remember.
Generally I rely on a set time so I can
organize my day, year and life.Without
those set times I doubt I’d be in position to be a blessing to anyone.
Having our time organized for us is actually an act of God;
after all it was His idea. There are some
time matters that we benefit from and should be thankful they weren’t left up
to us when it comes to “gettin' ‘er done.”
Those who are familiar with the Old Testament of the
Bible are aware that God has always ordained special times of year to be set
apart for certain things. In the book of
Genesis an example of this is through season changes, which include dormancy and
growing.
There are other set times that God places in motion,
especially when it comes to showering His children with supernatural favor. This “set time favor” is what I’m going to
share with you.
Ordained Favor
Celebrations such as the Jewish Spring Feasts of
Passover (Christian Crucifixion of Jesus), Unleavened Bread (Christian Burial of Christ), First Fruits (Christian Resurrection of Christ) and Pentecost (Descent of the Holy Spirit), were among designated
times where the Lord pre-planned blessings for the Israelites. (Leviticus 23:4)
They couldn’t be changed because they were based on calendar seasons or moon
cycles.Although God was always with the
Israelites, He set specific times of favor to bless them above and beyond Daily
Favor.
As children of God, that set time of favor is also
ordained for our lives. Before understanding favor, I didn’t realize how much
God’s hand was on my life. Now that I
know the difference between favor and blessings I can see how it has been
manifested continually over the years.
Anyone can choose to bless or receive blessings, the same
goes for favor. The difference is not
everyone blesses or receives blessings, nor is everyone shown supernatural or
natural favor.I’ve talked about this in
great lengths in past posts. Are you
able to recognize the differences yet?
Favor is a Need
Those who have followed this particular blog have read
that I pray favor into my life.I’ve
gotten some negative feedback on that, but that doesn’t surprise me.The reason why I pray for favor to surround
my life is because it’s totally Biblical.
I don’t pray for God to rain favor on me because I think
I’m better than anyone else or that I deserve it.
Living a life of favor for a
believer is a need. Since scripture declares “My God shall supply all my need
according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”(Philippians 4:19 NKJV), I
know that it is to be a part of my life.
In order for me to walk with Jesus and carry out His
commission, it will require favor to be actively working in my life if I am to
be a blessing.Without the favor of God
no one will be saved, healed or blessed. Tell me, would you believe a person who had
nothing going right for them and who is always complaining?Neither would I, because their words would
constantly be sabotaging my faith.
People want to believe, but Christians who spread the
gospel of lack, bust and disgust aren’t exactly driving the unsaved to the
altar. The world wants to see that God does answer prayer and He
is real. Therefore, favor is no longer
on a want list, but on a need to have list.
If we expect God’s promises to work in our lives, we must
believe that they are going to happen, and that includes understanding the
“need” principle of favor.
God gave favor to the Israelites because they needed Him
to show up in their lives at “set” or “appointed” times along their
journey.During the “Wilderness” days
financial favor wasn’t a top priority, but daily food provision and safety was.The shield of favor was in operation.
“For You, O Lord, will bless the
righteous; with favor
You will surround him as with a
shield.” (Psalm 5:12)
There is a Set Time for Favor
Have you been waiting for favor to fall on you in a way
that it takes you out of the pit and into the palace like it did with
Joseph? He waited over ten years for God
to act on his prayers.Throughout that
time Joseph didn’t lose hope, and believed that this would work as God planned
and for his good.
During his time of waiting Joseph experienced portions of
favor, but there was that one set time
when God propelled him from prisoner to prosperous.God caused things to fall into place when the
time was right.Favor was ordained into
Joseph’s life long before he was ever captured and when things were coming
against him.
Believe your time of favor will come. Things may not have
worked out for you before, but this time it will because it’s your time, your
season for the set time of favor. It’s a
promise of God and for you, so don’t give up on things working out to your
benefit.
What you couldn’t accomplish before you can do now,
because it’s a new season in your life with brand new favor to “spring”
forth. If you continue to journey with
Jesus, things that held you back will be removed, doors will open, and people
God wanted to cross your path are now lining up in place.
Why will all this happen? It’s the set time of favor for
God’s children during these last days before Jesus comes.
Hope Brings Favor
This week I was reading from Psalm 102.If you’re in a distressed state it wouldn’t
be something you’d want to read, because you’d think this man is a mess. However, the key is to keep reading!
It wasn’t a particularly blessed time for this author, and
practically everything was going wrong in his life.He was sick, had enemies, was broke, his friends
abandoned him, and there was no reason to have hope.
The psalmist poured out his woes in prayer, but then remembers
something that changes everything. Look at what it was:
“But You, O
LORD, shall endure forever, and the remembrance of Your name to all
generations.
You will arise and have mercy on Zion (which is the redeemed
church); for the time to favor her, yes the set time, has come!” (Psalm
102:12-13 NKJV)
Since the Zion of the New Testament is the Body of
Christ, this means each of us can insert our names in that slot for the set
time of favor to come on us.
It would be like this if I were praying this: "You will arise and have mercy on Fay; for the time to favor her, yes the set time, has come."
If we stay in belief in the midst of our difficulty, God
will arise and mercy will come because it will be our set time of favor. Jesus
will clear the way along our journey with Him, because we believed.
Keep believing no matter how things look.Stay in hope.Don’t get caught up in your circumstance letting them dictate your
future.Forget listening to people who
say "It can't happen!" Stay in
faith believing God is still on the Throne, and that you have a set time of
favor ordained in your life by the Lord.
Believe your set time has sprung forth to overcoming
obstacles.Believe that you will receive
favor for that promotion, your family will come to Christ, that special someone
will suddenly enter your life, debt is canceled and you will accomplish what
God wants you to do.
God will arise and bring forth what He set as favor for
you. No weapon formed against you will prosper. This is the blessing of spring seed time. Not seeds that you put in the ground and wait
for the harvest in the fall, but seed as in you being the seed of Abraham time.
You need to believe that favor seed was planted in you by
God and is about to sprout. It’s your
time to grow in faith and favor.
Stop thinking it’s not going to happen for you and
believe it’s your day for God’s set favor to be released. It has to happen for the end time church, but
most will miss it because of unbelief. You
don’t want to be among those statistics.
By faith take hold of the favor God has set aside for you.Keep telling yourself, “It may not have
happened yet, but it’s coming … my set time of God’s favor is here."
If you don’t believe that God has pre-ordained favor in
your life, you won’t finish your journey well.Your walk with Jesus will be short and uneventful. Our part isn’t to figure out how God is going
to make things work out for our good; we’re supposed to believe it will and
watch it come to pass.
This Week’s Challenge:
Believe in Your Set Time
Last year (2015) I wrote about how supernatural favor is
something that can be seen - tangible evidence. It has to be manifested into the visual realm so
others will know that the hand of God is on our lives. When it’s your set time for favor, there will
be no doubt that the face of God shined on you.
Each morning I wake up wondering how God will shine His
face on me for that day.I’m not looking
for it by sight, but by faith. Seeing by faith will allow me to experience
favor by sight.
I wait on Him and say, “Thank you Heavenly Father that your mercies, grace, blessings and
favor are new each morning.Lead, guide,
direct and show me Your favor that I may be a blessing to You and those I that
come in contact with today.”
Our challenge this week is to believe we have a set time
of favor. If Christians want to take
part in the end time soul harvest we have to get in line with what scripture
says about blessings and favor. It will
be a tool for leading souls to Christ.
On the flip side for those who think this is rubbish and
don’t believe these passages are for you, have no worries … favor won’t find
you.
Beloved, Jesus is coming at a set time by the Father and
we need to be ready. The Holy Spirit is
here and active in the life of those who walk with Jesus.
This is the church age of grace and favor, a set time by
God for the end generation. In the name
of Jesus believe every enemy against you is bound and the Lord is rising up
within you now.Healing is released,
families are restored and Your Time of Favor has come.
