Days of Thanks

Thomas Kinkade 4 Season Puzzle
In the cooler parts of North America, fall is really settling in and the colors are revealing their beauty just like they do in upstate New York.

It is with our last teaching series in mind (Waiting for Favor), that reminded me of how blessed we are to be able to enjoy the fruit of God’s labor of love through Creation no matter what part of the world we choose to call home.

Recently I was chatting with a social media friend from Nigeria where he described the dry, extremely hot season in which they are entering.  I know that the natural seasons are continually changing everywhere, but I am so thankful to live where we can experience all four of them.

Thanks for joining us on Daily Favor Blog.

Thankful for You

No matter how I have come to know all of you over the years, I am so appreciative and feel blessed that you have carved out of your schedules a bit of time to spend with me throughout the week.  Hubby and I have compassion on your needs, desires and aspirations, mentioning you with thanksgiving to God in prayer.

“My prayers for you are full of praise to God as I give Him thanks for you with great joy!  I’m so grateful for our union.” (Philippians 1:3 TPT)

“Whenever you cross my mind, I thank my God for you and for the gift of knowing you.” (Philippians 1:3 VOICE)

I am extremely thankful for each person that visits, and want to include every one of you in our “Days of Thanks” challenge during the month of November.  For this I will be posting on my Facebook page.  My regular posts will continue here on Daily Favor teaching site.

Getting to Know You

It was also in some internet exchanges I learned that many of you didn’t realize I post on a regular basis on Facebook (that’s when it’s working properly).

Throughout the day and week, I post all sorts of things that could help you get to know me a little better and vice versa.

Sometimes it’s personal (a lot of times it includes hubby stuff), movies, photos, what I’m doing, my food choices, gardening, pets … just about every topic that I’m experiencing at the time.

That’s why I’d really like it if you would join my Facebook friends as we venture out on this Days of Thanks challenge.  It wouldn’t be the same without all of you!

How the Challenge Works

You’ll probably be online anyway, so why not take part in giving thanks?  Globally we could be giving praise and thanks to God round the clock!

Here’s how it works.

Each day we (hubby or myself) will be posting two things we are thankful for, working our way through the alphabet A-Z.  I know that there are only 26 letters in the English alphabet and 30 days in the month, but that just adds to the challenge doesn’t it?  Sometimes I feel doubly blessed, so perhaps those will be tucked in somewhere as well.

With each post I would like you (and your friends after you share the post) to add your days of thanks to the list.  The more people post the more we are open to what God is doing throughout the world in the hearts of those who love Him.

For example, if we are on the letter “C” I might list “cheesecake” or “clothes” as a material/natural side of thankfulness.  Who am I kidding, you all know it probably would be chocolate first!

You might be thankful for children, that’s cool too, but be “creative” (that’s a C word). Don’t be shy in giving thanks for things that make your life better or easier.  God has allowed them so let us know how grateful you are.  By the end of the month we’ll know at least thirty more things about one another.

This step is going to be more challenging. (You might want to start thinking of something for X about now; it may take a month!)  For the spiritual part of thanksgiving, I might write “Christ” or “covenant”.  The idea is pretty straightforward.  Each day you would list a comment under the recent post for the two things beginning with the letter C that you are thankful for daily.

After you have commented on my Facebook page (photos on topic are welcome), it is vital that the posts get shared if this testimony and message about “Days of Thanks” is to reach the most people possible.  So many times, we forget about what people value and we need an awakening to what is happening in the lives of others.

There Is No Secret

Every day I receive messages from people around the world where they tell me some of the most personal things they are experiencing.  It’s heartbreaking, but each one receives encouragement when we pray, praise God and give thanks for the things we do have.

In prayer ... “Grace and peace be with you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus the Anointed One.

Every time you cross my mind, I break out in exclamations of thanks to God.  Each exclamation is a trigger to prayer. I find myself praying for you with a glad heart.

I am so pleased that you have continued on in this with us, believing and proclaiming God’s Message (of salvation and grace), from the day you heard it right up to the present.  There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears.” (Philippians 1:2-6 MSG)

I am humbled immediately with each request for prayer knowing that God has good things for those who seek Him with their whole heart.  There is no doubt in my mind that those who give praise and thanks to the Most High God, will find His favor.

“For the fountain of life pours into you every time that you find me (wisdom), and this is the secret of growing in the delight and the favor of the Lord.” (Proverbs 8:35 TPT)

There’s a chorus to an old song we sing that sums up the fullness of God’s loving favor on those who will believe in Jesus Christ as Savior.

It is no secret, what God can do,
What He’s done for others, He’ll do for you.
With arms wide open, He’ll pardon you.
It is no secret, what God can do.

What is the secret?  Wisdom.  That is, wisdom in receiving God’s grace … His unmerited favor to forgive sin, any and all confessed sin.  Admitting sin to God for things you have committed against Him, and asking for His forgiveness releases the gift of favor on a person’s life.  Only those who have done this receive God’s favor, grace and blessings.
In reality, there isn’t a secret to receiving God’s favor.  He has made it clear in His Word, we just have to do it.

“If we freely admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He (Jesus) is faithful and just (true to His own word, nature and promises), and will forgive our sins and cleanse us continually from all unrighteousness (things we do wrong, everything that does not conform to His will and Divine purpose).” (1 John 1:9 AMP emphasis mine)

I have obeyed Christ and not kept my salvation secret. As a result, the Tell Me About Jesus page is one of the most visited on this site.  It was after one of those visits I received a message.

This is a question someone from Twitter recently asked, “What has He (referring to Jesus) done for others including me?”  A reasonable inquiry I thought.

God has forgiven me of my sins because I admitted (to Him) I was in need of a Savior.  Jesus forgave me of all my wrong doing setting me free from the sins, guilt and unrighteous behavior of my past or any that I may commit in the future.

Plus, with the saving grace of salvation came the gift of eternal life and loving Daily Favor from the Lord.

Every day we get to start over, or as Anne Shirley from Anne of Green Gables said, “Tomorrow is always fresh with no mistakes in it”.

Although that was a line from a story, it’s true because His mercy and favor are freshly replenished to me every morning.  For this I can never give enough thanks to God,

“But this I recall and therefore have I hope and expectation:  It is because of the Lord’s mercy and loving-kindness that we are not consumed, because His (tender) compassion fails not.  They are new every morning; great and abundant is Your stability and faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:21-23 AMPC)

Christ is willing to forgive us of sin, isn’t that something to be thankful for and not keep secret?  If He is willing to do it for me, He will forgive you too if you ask Him.  Learn how on the Tell Me page like so many others have.

This Week’s Challenge:
Sharing Days of Thanks

With the holiday we celebrate called Thanksgiving, we often get caught up in the meals or gatherings.

This year I don’t want us to forget that each day we are alive, God's grace allows us to partake in His Daily Favor through so many resources that are made available.  We are to use them for His glory.

Sharing thirty Days of Thanks is hardly a tip in the gratitude bucket, but I feel we have to start somewhere together.  Please join me each day in November on my Facebook page for this challenge.

Let’s publicly take part in proclaiming the message of thanksgiving to God for His unmerited Daily Favor.  The Days of Thanks start now!

Spring Favor

For the past few nights my husband and I have spent long hours in conversation.  I asked him about how his week has been going and where did he see the favor of God working.

One of the reasons I was trying to pull something out of him was because my week has been rather uneventful with not leaving the house.  With the weather turning cold again and not having central heating, someone has to stay home to tend to the heaters … so other than with hubby and the pets it didn’t leave much fellowshipping.  After posing the question about God's favor he didn't have much to say.
When I got up on Thursday (April 14th, 2016) my husband was excited about having a list of things to share with me after spending time with Jesus on his journey.  With that in mind I invited him to be the first guest writer on Daily Favor.  Please make him welcome by sharing his post.  Thanks in advance!

When a Man Loves a Woman
It’s the time of year when people feel they are about to burst if they don’t get outdoors and do something, especially Fay.  Some refer to it as “spring fever”, but my wife calls it “spring favor”… a time where we can really see the goodness of God in the land of the living.
We had a rather lengthy conversation, laughed a lot and then my wife threw in the hook by asking me about my week.  I should have seen it coming, but played right into her sweet smile.
She always does this right at bedtime.  I’m zonked and ready to go to sleep but she wants to talk … not easy conversations either … deep philosophical ones that make you have to think.
“How and where have I seen God’s favor this week?”  Really honey, at 3 a.m.? Guys don’t talk about that stuff, everybody knows that.  We go, we do, come back home, eat, take naps and sleep.  Seriously ladies, our lives aren’t that deep.
Understanding the teacher part of my wife, I knew she would expect some sort of an answer in the morning.  Seems we never escape the classroom no matter what our age.
That night (Wednesday) I prayed for my wife and her work on this week’s Daily Favor Blog, asking the Lord what He would have me share with her that would help along this journey.

The Favor of Spring Time
Thursday morning I was like a proud kid waiting to show the teacher his homework.  I had written down a list of things that demonstrated how God’s favor was working.  “Lovey” didn’t even have her breakfast yet and was already writing on the chalkboard of my brain.  If Fay looked closer she would have noticed it was a dry erase board!
A clue for those of you who aren’t familiar with the life of a teacher, their goal isn’t to give you the answers, but to draw them out of you.  FYI – I don’t like drawing!
Once my wife listened to my list she had more questions for me to consider and so my assignment wasn’t quite finished.  This time she directed my focus to whether or not “spring” was favor, natural law or both.
Was she messing with my head? I began to wonder whether or not I was grasping the concept of favor at all. While I was taking out the trash and doing some chores, I saw “spring” in a new light.
Many of us view the changes of seasons as the favor of God; in some ways it is.  However these things occur because of the natural law that God put in motion way back in the Garden of Eden. (See Genesis chapters 1-2)
Flowering Vinca Vine
Because of the promises of God concerning sowing and reaping we are able to sow seeds in the soil and depending upon the seed sown, get flowers, plants or vegetables.
Plus, according to 2 Corinthians 9:10 NKJV, God will “multiply the seed you have sown”.  We see this all around us every day.
“Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness.” (2 Corinthians 9:10 NKJV)
It’s not like I didn’t know these things happen, but that I stopped to see how God was at work showing favor even when we don’t see it as such.  For instance, take a look at perennial plants.  We usually only have to plant them once, and because of the law of nature they come up every year.
Hosta Plant 4/14/16
Let’s take it farther and consider another aspect like my wife suggested.  This is where I saw more than a few plants and shrubbery growing in and around our yard.
God’s favor was on the hands that initially did the work so that the beauty of the Lord could be established.  The wonder of how these things continue to grow is amazing in itself don’t you think?
“And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands for us; yes establish the work of our hands." (Psalm 90:17 NKJV)
Our hostas, daffodils and vinca vine not only come up yearly, but multiply so much that they have to be divided.  One plant turns into dozens of new plantings.  The initial plants were given to us; we’ve been able to sow to others from seed that wasn’t ours extending the blessing.
Bird nest in walnut tree.

Leaving the house I noticed that a dove had built its nest in the lowest branches of the walnut tree in our front yard.  We weren’t surprised by the inactivity of birds or squirrels at the feeding station, but believed the spring babies have arrived.  Growth is taking place all around us and with it comes new life in abundance.
The trees we now enjoy were once seedling plants. Years later we are reaping the benefits of the shade, beauty and delicious walnuts that someone else labored to provide.  Call it natural law, favor or both.  As for me, anything I didn’t have to dig a hole for sure is favor.
So to answer my wife’s question on how have I seen the favor of God in operation around me this week, all I need do is go to her place of rest and say:
“Honey, look out the kitchen window.  Who do you see working?”

This Week’s Challenge:
Love God’s Spring Favor

Every spring we are reminded of the bounty that is in the earth with each bud, blade of grass or blossom that emerges.
Watching nature bloom and change is something that we enjoy because of the grace of God.  He allows us to reap the benefits of such beauty whether or not we deserve it, simply because of His mercy (unmerited favor).  Read Psalm 104 and see.
Our challenge this week may not seem that impressive or challenging for that matter, but is something we all need to take seriously.  Simply said, when you go outside grow in grace and knowledge by thanking God for what you are seeing.  In other words, go hug a tree!
“But grow in grace (chen – favor), and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and forever. Amen.” (2 Peter 3:18 NKJV)
A friend of ours who is VERY thankful for spring favor!

Whether it is an open sky in the desert, lush gardens in a valley or plain grassy areas, no matter what the “outdoors” looks like … give God praise for the spring favor we enjoy through His natural law on the earth.  May favor spring forth and multiply as knowledge of our Creator increases.
“Grow in the loving-favor that Christ gives you.  Learn to know our Lord Jesus Christ better. He is the One Who saves.  May He have all the shining greatness now and forever. Let it be so. (2 Peter 3:18 NLV)

It’s Your Time for Favor

Spring is my favorite season of the year.  All week long my interest in new things coming has repeatedly taken me outdoors.

It’s hard to be cooped up inside knowing that at any time there is going to be an abundance of flowers popping out from the ground or tree blossoms waiting to be cut for a beautiful bouquet.

More and more people emerge from winter hibernation to see what is happening all around them. Something different is in the air.

Why does the season change make people want to start over when things around them look glum?  It’s because God has implanted in each of us hope, and springtime means there’s a set time of favor about to burst forth.

Setting of Time

I think that most people are in the habit of setting their clocks for one reason or another.  My clock is set to go off six times a day, not including special appointments or dates I need to remember.
Generally I rely on a set time so I can organize my day, year and life.  Without those set times I doubt I’d be in position to be a blessing to anyone.

Having our time organized for us is actually an act of God; after all it was His idea.  There are some time matters that we benefit from and should be thankful they weren’t left up to us when it comes to “gettin' ‘er done.”

Those who are familiar with the Old Testament of the Bible are aware that God has always ordained special times of year to be set apart for certain things.  In the book of Genesis an example of this is through season changes, which include dormancy and growing.

There are other set times that God places in motion, especially when it comes to showering His children with supernatural favor.  This “set time favor” is what I’m going to share with you.

Ordained Favor

Celebrations such as the Jewish Spring Feasts of Passover (Christian Crucifixion of Jesus), Unleavened Bread (Christian Burial of Christ), First Fruits (Christian Resurrection of Christ) and Pentecost (Descent of the Holy Spirit), were among designated times where the Lord pre-planned blessings for the Israelites. (Leviticus 23:4)
They couldn’t be changed because they were based on calendar seasons or moon cycles.  Although God was always with the Israelites, He set specific times of favor to bless them above and beyond Daily Favor.

As children of God, that set time of favor is also ordained for our lives. Before understanding favor, I didn’t realize how much God’s hand was on my life.  Now that I know the difference between favor and blessings I can see how it has been manifested continually over the years.

Anyone can choose to bless or receive blessings, the same goes for favor.  The difference is not everyone blesses or receives blessings, nor is everyone shown supernatural or natural favor.  I’ve talked about this in great lengths in past posts.  Are you able to recognize the differences yet?

Favor is a Need

Those who have followed this particular blog have read that I pray favor into my life.  I’ve gotten some negative feedback on that, but that doesn’t surprise me.  The reason why I pray for favor to surround my life is because it’s totally Biblical.

I don’t pray for God to rain favor on me because I think I’m better than anyone else or that I deserve it.
Living a life of favor for a believer is a need. Since scripture declares “My God shall supply all my need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19 NKJV), I know that it is to be a part of my life.

In order for me to walk with Jesus and carry out His commission, it will require favor to be actively working in my life if I am to be a blessing.  Without the favor of God no one will be saved, healed or blessed.  Tell me, would you believe a person who had nothing going right for them and who is always complaining?  Neither would I, because their words would constantly be sabotaging my faith.

People want to believe, but Christians who spread the gospel of lack, bust and disgust aren’t exactly driving the unsaved to the altar.  The world wants to see that God does answer prayer and He is real.  Therefore, favor is no longer on a want list, but on a need to have list.

If we expect God’s promises to work in our lives, we must believe that they are going to happen, and that includes understanding the “need” principle of favor.

God gave favor to the Israelites because they needed Him to show up in their lives at “set” or “appointed” times along their journey.  During the “Wilderness” days financial favor wasn’t a top priority, but daily food provision and safety was.  The shield of favor was in operation.

“For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; with favor
You will surround him as with a shield.” (Psalm 5:12)

There is a Set Time for Favor

Have you been waiting for favor to fall on you in a way that it takes you out of the pit and into the palace like it did with Joseph?  He waited over ten years for God to act on his prayers.  Throughout that time Joseph didn’t lose hope, and believed that this would work as God planned and for his good.

During his time of waiting Joseph experienced portions of favor, but there was that one set time when God propelled him from prisoner to prosperous.  God caused things to fall into place when the time was right.  Favor was ordained into Joseph’s life long before he was ever captured and when things were coming against him.

Believe your time of favor will come. Things may not have worked out for you before, but this time it will because it’s your time, your season for the set time of favor.  It’s a promise of God and for you, so don’t give up on things working out to your benefit.

What you couldn’t accomplish before you can do now, because it’s a new season in your life with brand new favor to “spring” forth.  If you continue to journey with Jesus, things that held you back will be removed, doors will open, and people God wanted to cross your path are now lining up in place.

Why will all this happen? It’s the set time of favor for God’s children during these last days before Jesus comes.

Hope Brings Favor

This week I was reading from Psalm 102.  If you’re in a distressed state it wouldn’t be something you’d want to read, because you’d think this man is a mess.  However, the key is to keep reading!

It wasn’t a particularly blessed time for this author, and practically everything was going wrong in his life.  He was sick, had enemies, was broke, his friends abandoned him, and there was no reason to have hope.

The psalmist poured out his woes in prayer, but then remembers something that changes everything. Look at what it was:

“But You, O LORD, shall endure forever, and the remembrance of Your name to all generations.
You will arise and have mercy on Zion (which is the redeemed church); for the time to favor her, yes the set time, has come!” (Psalm 102:12-13 NKJV)

Since the Zion of the New Testament is the Body of Christ, this means each of us can insert our names in that slot for the set time of favor to come on us.
It would be like this if I were praying this: "You will arise and have mercy on Fay; for the time to favor her, yes the set time, has come."

If we stay in belief in the midst of our difficulty, God will arise and mercy will come because it will be our set time of favor. Jesus will clear the way along our journey with Him, because we believed.

Keep believing no matter how things look.  Stay in hope.  Don’t get caught up in your circumstance letting them dictate your future.  Forget listening to people who say "It can't happen!"  Stay in faith believing God is still on the Throne, and that you have a set time of favor ordained in your life by the Lord.

Believe your set time has sprung forth to overcoming obstacles.  Believe that you will receive favor for that promotion, your family will come to Christ, that special someone will suddenly enter your life, debt is canceled and you will accomplish what God wants you to do.

God will arise and bring forth what He set as favor for you. No weapon formed against you will prosper.  This is the blessing of spring seed time.  Not seeds that you put in the ground and wait for the harvest in the fall, but seed as in you being the seed of Abraham time.

You need to believe that favor seed was planted in you by God and is about to sprout.  It’s your time to grow in faith and favor.

Stop thinking it’s not going to happen for you and believe it’s your day for God’s set favor to be released.  It has to happen for the end time church, but most will miss it because of unbelief.  You don’t want to be among those statistics.

By faith take hold of the favor God has set aside for you.  Keep telling yourself, “It may not have happened yet, but it’s coming … my set time of God’s favor is here."

If you don’t believe that God has pre-ordained favor in your life, you won’t finish your journey well.  Your walk with Jesus will be short and uneventful.  Our part isn’t to figure out how God is going to make things work out for our good; we’re supposed to believe it will and watch it come to pass.

This Week’s Challenge:
Believe in Your Set Time

Last year (2015) I wrote about how supernatural favor is something that can be seen - tangible evidence. It has to be manifested into the visual realm so others will know that the hand of God is on our lives.  When it’s your set time for favor, there will be no doubt that the face of God shined on you.

Each morning I wake up wondering how God will shine His face on me for that day.  I’m not looking for it by sight, but by faith. Seeing by faith will allow me to experience favor by sight.

I wait on Him and say, “Thank you Heavenly Father that your mercies, grace, blessings and favor are new each morning.   Lead, guide, direct and show me Your favor that I may be a blessing to You and those I that come in contact with today.”

Our challenge this week is to believe we have a set time of favor.  If Christians want to take part in the end time soul harvest we have to get in line with what scripture says about blessings and favor.  It will be a tool for leading souls to Christ.

On the flip side for those who think this is rubbish and don’t believe these passages are for you, have no worries … favor won’t find you.

Beloved, Jesus is coming at a set time by the Father and we need to be ready.  The Holy Spirit is here and active in the life of those who walk with Jesus.

This is the church age of grace and favor, a set time by God for the end generation.  In the name of Jesus believe every enemy against you is bound and the Lord is rising up within you now.  Healing is released, families are restored and Your Time of Favor has come.
