What Happens without A Vision Plan?

The Importance of a Vision Series: Part 2

Have you ever made plans that did not work out due to "circumstances" you had no control over?  Sure, you have, we all have.

With that thought in mind it changed what I wanted to include in this series and why I felt it was important.  Those who follow Daily Favor know that I share what is happening in my life and how I know God's favor is real, despite what "things" may look like.

If I am not teaching, "favor-ites" (DF followers) know "something" must be happening and in time they will hear about it either here (somewhere) or on my You Tube posts (no, I still cannot upload videos, but do keep posts.  Another thing I am working on ...).

So here goes ...

Is the vision lost?

Besides ongoing hubby things, these past seven months had changes coming from every direction, preventing me from moving forward with the "vision" for my life that weighs heavy on my heart.

Working, doing cat rescues, caring for hubby, doctor stuff, yardwork, and regular household chores, things were finally falling in line (for the most part) due to the schedule I had meticulously fashioned.  The next step of the vision was going well and I had hopes for a good result when the following events changed everything.

In late September 2025 our fifteen-year-old rescue cat Izzy had a blockage that almost took his life, causing him to spend ten days in the hospital.  We spent every day going back to the hospital to feed him, because they could not get him to eat.

Finally, he was home in recovery and doing well caring for himself as in the past concerning eating, drinking, or using the litter.  While we were still caring for Izzy another critical situation happened.

On October 14th, I began laying out the foundation of a new book I had been working on over the course of several months.  In-between work, caring for hubby and rescue stuff I noticed one of the cats barely eating or moving around much (which was unlike him).

Keeping a watchful eye of him we knew something was wrong and immediately made an appointment with the vet the next morning.  It was not long after the doctor's examination we heard the news.

Pepper, a six-year-old rescue cat had a urinary blockage and his organs were shutting down.  Dr. G stated he needed emergency surgery within the hour and did not know if he would make it through the operation due to the vast circumstances.

The staff was well aware of our faith in the Lord and over the next few hours we spent our time in prayer.  Pepper came through the surgery and like Izzy, we visited him daily for feeding and rehabilitation over the several weeks.

In each situation we received abundant kindness, compassion, and favor from the entire staff.  God caused favor in the billing, which was thousands of dollars between the two surgeries, and they were paid in full on time!

Both rescues were doing well completely recovering from their surgeries.  Then on December 30th Izzy had a massive stroke, which eventually left him unable to eat, drink or walk on his own.

Over the next three months Izzy required bottle and syringe feedings every few hours, carrying him to the litter box, and "juicing" (as we put it) aka SQ fluids every other day.  (Subcutaneous fluid treatments by needle under the skin for chronic kidney disease (issues) and dehydration.)

Although we handle cat medications on a daily basis, it had been a few years since we had done round the clock critical care and were aware of what it required.  However, last time was before hubby's brain bleeds, which made this quite different.

Caring for our furry kitty (as well as the other special needs cats) took a toll on us physically and mentally mostly due to lack of sleep.  I found myself crawling into bed at dawn only having to get up not long after when I heard Izzy or hubby calling for me.

Then came the literal storms on March 15th that took out another tree in our yard in the middle of the night.  Hubby and I were up with Izzy when we heard a bang followed by a loud crash.

We knew what happened.  A tree brought down the street's power lines on one of the coldest nights of the year, and to top it off, it began to snow!

My husband and I saw sparks from the tree that pulled down the power lines and immediately called the police.  Reporting the details of what happened and stating our concern about a fire, the officer on the phone told us that they did not know how long it would be until the electric company could get to the matter due to all the other outages in the area.

We prayed over the situation, the workers and all who were affected that the electric would get back on right away without delay.  Within minutes, yes minutes, we saw five trucks from the electric company behind our house and chain saws buzzing to clear the tree off the road.  Praise God it did not hit anything else and missed the propane tank!  Favor came when it appeared to be unavailable and the electric was back on within two hours!

Last week I spent almost all my time with Izzy, carrying him everywhere and caring for his every need.  Memories of when he was rescued from an Aldi's dumpster weighing under two pounds swept through my mind.

On March 18th he ate a little, drank a little and went potty.  Later that afternoon at 3:09 pm my precious Izzy peacefully went to Jesus in my arms.

This was a chapter in my life that was not intended for the book; a lesson in strength, endurance, trust,  faithfulness, and increasing faith.  Is the vision lost?  Not at all.  Circumstances took me away from the vision in my heart for a time, but it is very much still there.

How easily distractions can pull us away from what we really want to be doing.  Some are unavoidable while others we allow to happen simply because sticking to a plan often is too much of a hassle.

The question is, do we get back on course with the dream despite what is happening around us, or do we let the circumstances alter the original blueprint that led to the vision in the first place?

I can still picture that Sunday we visited the little country church from our previous lesson, and the conversations that took place concerning its future through the pastor's vision.  Over the years, Hubby and I have wondered what became of that congregation and if it still exists.

How could they just forget the reason they even existed and the importance of outreach in sharing the gospel?  There was a blueprint; there was a written plan.  Unfortunately, "circumstances" they did not expect caused them to change the original vision, because they did not want to wait for the corrections to be made that would have brought the vision to pass.

Several members told us they knew the vision, but were willing to settle for second best because it got them back in their building quicker.  They did not stick to the blueprint that was agreed upon but deferred to Plan B.  It was good plan, but not God's best and they were okay with that.

In my best southern written accent, "Now don't y'all be beat'n down on this here church."  We have all left our life vision somewhere down the road; some for a short time, others forever!  How quickly we point a finger at others when they miss the message.

The Importance of A Vision Part 2:
What Happens without A Vision Plan

Looking back on that situation it reminded me of how many times I have gotten sidetracked or went “sideways” like that church who failed to follow the given blueprint for their existence.   Without remaining focused on the reason(s) driving the vision, our plans become blurred and in time distorted from what God originally placed in our heart.  Odds of it even happening become non-existent.

A clear vision makes it easy to stay the course, causing our dreams to become a reality. Having something tangible before our eyes keeps us focused on why we are doing something.  It becomes a target we aim towards.  Our convictions, ideas and action become substance and something we can grasp.

People who lose focus look back and wonder what they should have done or where they went wrong.  They often forget they changed their vision direction somewhere along the journey, which made things turn out differently than planned.

Follow the God-Right Direction

Having a God ordained vision or life path gives us direction; we become encouraged and passionate about what we do.  Following a vision makes us feel significant and like we matter.

There is a process and purpose in what we do, and why we do it.  So, when obstacles do get in the way, remaining focused on the vision makes it easier to go back to the original plan repeatedly until it actually becomes a reality.

It is vital you remember this - the Heavenly Father knows that setbacks will happen; He already figured that into His glorious plan for your life.

God has favor in place for where you are supposed to be along the journey.  If you change direction or scrap the plan, the favor that was meant for you will not be there.

Do not change, alter or deviate from the vision no matter what happens or how long it takes!

The Bible tells us that God’s people need direction from the Lord, and when we lose that vision it is easy to get lost in life’s fulfillment of purpose.  It literally means that when there is nothing godly in our life vision we get blinded by worldly things, and ultimately the good plans (as in Jeremiah 29:11) God had in store for us perishes … they die, never to be established.

Some use this passage incorrectly when it comes to having a vision or plan for their life directing it toward children, but actually is for all children of God regardless of age.

“Where there is no vision (no revelation of God and His word), the people (perish and) are unrestrained; but happy and blessed (favored) is he who keeps the law (of God).  A servant will not be corrected by words alone; for though he understands, he will not respond
(nor pay attention).”
(Proverbs 29:18-19 AMP)

I like how clear The Message Bible puts this:

“If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; but when they attend to what He reveals, they are most blessed (with favor).  It takes more than talk to keep workers in line; mere words go in one ear and out the other.”  (Proverbs 29:18-19 MSG)

So, what really happens without a vision plan?

Literally, without clear, focused vision as stated in Habakkuk 2:2-4, Proverbs 29:18 happens and prevents the favor of God from being carried out as God planned in Jeremiah 29:11.

Write out the God given vision or perish,
leaving a life without His favor!

In other words, we must have a vision plan, blueprint, or something tangible to stick to that will help us stay focused on the prize – goal for our life.

Detours Do Not Change the Vision

Life can sometimes take us on a detour we did not expect and if we let it, cause us to change or abandon the vision/dream God placed in our heart.  This is when it is extremely important to remind yourself of what the Bible says about God's plans.

"...what the LORD has planned will stand forever. His thought never changes." (Psalm 33:11 CEV)

Do not be discouraged when the "unplanned" happens, but rejoice because the vision has not changed. Stay close to the Lord and He will guide you back to the plan.  Expect the favor of God to show up in the midst of it all as He said it would.

God has promised that if we write the vision, it will be delayed before it comes to pass.  Time in-between the written part of the vision to the fulfillment of it must take place.  Our part is to write it, then nurture it by faith until it comes at the appointed time.

"Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it.  For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie.  Though it tarries, wait for it;
because it will surely come, it will not tarry." (Habakkuk 2:2-3 NKJV)

With this understanding, it is time to go to the Heavenly Father in prayer and reaffirm the favored vision action plan He has prepared for those that love Him.

Until next time, favored blessings!

Surrounded by His Favor Shield

For the past few months, we have been experiencing major storms, including tornadoes causing tremendous damage throughout the city.

On May 7th, 2024, the winds from a tornado brought down another set of trees in our back yard.  The thing is, we did not even know this had happened until the following morning when my husband went outside to feed the birds.

Going out to see the damage for myself, it only looked like a branch had broken, but that was not the case.  Apparently, one tree was uprooted and fell on the tree near it, resulting in both trees leaning but not quite touching the ground.

When I looked at it, the first thing that came to mind was, "How neat, it looks like a tree rainbow." ... then I followed it back to the roots!  The only thing that appeared to be holding these trees up was the huge trumpet vines that were growing around the base of the trees and along the fence.

As we walked around the area something more amazing caught our attention.  The tree limbs did not crush anything when it fell and they totally missed all the power lines.  As a matter of fact, all the branches "surrounded" our picnic table area where I potted up plants, and they wrapped around the closed umbrella but never touched it in any way!  How was that even possible?  I can tell you how, God kept His promise of protection over us, the house and property.

(Not a branch on the table, just the neighbor's cat!)

How many times have you been in danger and somehow you were spared?  I can remember so many times where angels had to have intervened in a situation or it would have been a disaster.

There were other incidents where simple things like something falling from above just missed me by a hair!  Who can count the number of times when those things happened, not me!

Then I got to thinking, how many other times was I  in danger and never knew it?  Times where accidents happened and I had been in that intersection or area minutes before it took place.  Or times when people tried to cause harm but they could not ... that's when God surrounded us like a shield with His favor, protection and mercy.

"For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous; with favor You will surround him as with a shield." (Psalm 5:12)

As I was typing this, it was almost ready for posting when the electric went out three times due to a storm that rose suddenly.  Thank God everything was fine and we regained power. Friend, this is another prime example of the Lord's faithfulness to His Word.

The enemy does not want God's children to know that the promise of God's shield of favor is always present, and he will try to stop the message of faith from going forth.  It was no coincidence that I was teaching on Psalm 91 when we lost power, but God's hand of protection prevented the devil from stopping the message of hope from being spread abroad!  This powerful tool, the promise of protection with God's favor shield, is mightier than anything the devil tries to throw your way, so use it by speaking it daily into and over your life.

It is easy to give in to fear over what could or might be, but when you know God is literally watching over your life, you can live in confidence instead of fear.  The Lord's shield of favor is surrounding you in every situation, so quit worrying and begin living the life God has planned for you.

God's faithful promises are your armor and protection, speaking these over your life should be a vital part of every believer's morning and evening routine.

"Those who live in the shelter of the Most High (God) will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.  This I declare about the Lord:  He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; He is my God, and I trust Him." (taken from Psalm 91:1-2 NLT)

Make this declaration a part of your daily confession like we do in our family.

"Thank You Lord that I abide in the shadow of the Almighty, and that You continually surround me (my family, my business, etc.) like a shield with favor, mercy and protection."

Until next time, Favored Blessings

"Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.  This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; He is my God, and I trust Him.  For He will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease, He will cover you with His feathers.  He will shelter you with His wings.  His faithful promises are your armor and protection." (Psalm 91:1-3 NLT)

5 Favor Power Tools for Taking Back Authority

Someone is looking suspicious though ...
For weeks the internet has been filled with reports of all sorts of physical storms throughout the world.

Lately there’s been a running joke on Twitter that the weather in my area has spread all over the states.  I can assure you that I had nothing to do with it.

However, there is something I do that may interest you.  I’ve been talking to storms of all sorts by faith for over twenty years.  Okay, you officially think something is strange; you can stop rolling your eyes any time now.

To cut to the chase, one of the first times was during a fire that surrounded our house.  My pups and I were trapped inside, but God showed me what to do and say by taking authority over it in the name of Jesus.

I haven’t forgotten that lesson and still practice it daily.  If you want know what I did, keep reading and you too will learn how to take authority over the “storms” in your life.

Thanks for joining us on Daily Favor Blog.

Supernatural Life Lessons

Everyone deals with storms in life, not just ones that occur in the weather.  It’s how we handle them that determines whether or not we survive as a victor or victim.

If we truly walk with Jesus we are to do as and command as He did by facing the storm(s) without fear.  I know it sounds crazy or impossible, but do you remember what our Savior did?  He spoke to the storm with authority and commanded it to be calmed.

“Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea,
Peace, be still! And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.”

Jesus didn’t go into a panic, but did something natural as God’s Son.  He used the power given to Him by His Father and the Holy Spirit.  By putting those power tools into practice, the storm had to bow to His command and obey.

As children of the KING we have authority to act and command as Jesus did.  Do you recall how He was disappointed that the disciples didn’t speak to the storm?

“Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, Peace, be still! And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.”

Here comes the reprimand …

But He said to them: Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith? (Have you still no faith?)

And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another:
Who can this be that even the wind and the sea obey Him?”
(Mark 4:35-41 NKJV emphasis mine)

You Have Power through Christ

Before Jesus went to the cross, He openly told the Disciples that they had authority and power to destroy the hand of satan over a situation.  The power was given through the Holy Spirit and He is the one who acts when we give voice to the authority we’ve been given.

The Holy Spirit power is given to Christians at the time of salvation as part of the promise package of favor to God’s children.  Anyone who receives Jesus as their Savior has this same believer's authority of power, I merely acted on that promise.  Think of it as if Jesus spoke to you and said, “I give you power over the works of the enemy, now use it correctly.”

This is where most of us fail.  We don’t really understand the promises of God that we receive through the Holy Spirit.  The book of Timothy in the Holy Bible tells us that we have been given a spirit of power, along with the spirit of love and discernment to know how to respond when the spirit of fear from the enemy arises.

So why aren’t we using this favor power promise from God in all situations?  Shouldn’t it be the first thing that pops into our thinking during storms (difficulties, situations or circumstances) in life that arise, or do we need Jesus to arise again (go back to the cross for a do over)?

We have authority!  God has given us the power to trample over the enemy, but the only way we’ll learn how to use what we’ve been given is to open the Word of God and read it. Enclosed in the Bible are all the promises we’ll need for any situation or “storm” that arises.  It's where we learn about the favor shield, the blessings gifts, the surrounding of mercy on our lives, and the steps to take for every circumstance.

So Are We in this World

As children of God, we also have authority to use given to us by Jesus, through the power of the Holy Spirit.  It’s our choice to use what is “enclosed” in the Promise Book.  When we don’t use all of what was promised, something is missing in our battle over the enemy.  We end up feeling defeated or actually are, and who wants that?

God’s divine grace, favor and power is given to believers for use in this lifetime for godliness, wisdom, knowledge and understanding to do exactly as Jesus did on this earth.  In 2 Peter 1:2-4, Peter refers to it as “precious promises” so that we can partake of the Divine nature to escape the evil of this world.  That’s right, children of God have a Divine nature living inside them and the power that goes with it when used correctly.

Putting it in terms we can understand … as Jesus is, so are we to be in this world.  You and I are little “power rangers” so to speak, when we operate under the Might of the Holy Spirit.

“We are meeting the needs of God's people and reviving them spiritually, emotionally, physically and financially with the Word of God! For ...as [Jesus] is, so are we in this world ( from 1 John 4:17)."
 – Pastors Tony and Cynthia Brazelton.

The power of the Holy Spirit is essential in every believer’s life if we are to carry out the works of Christ and win souls to the Lord. It’s something we should cry out for daily so we can be used as vessels for Him.

It’s not only the first disciples, apostles, pastors and Christian leaders like the Brazelton's that can call on the power of God in the name of Jesus to combat evil …so can we.  It’s time to let the devil know that we are a POWERful force and that no weapon formed against us will prosper.

No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgement You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is from Me, says the Lord.” (Isaiah 54:17 NKJV)

This Week's Challenge:
Using Our Favor Power Tools

In faith applying the same promise principle against the enemy, I commanded something as simple as my phone to work in the name of Jesus and guess what?  It did.  Why would God care about my phone? He knows that it is used for encouraging communication in spreading good news of the gospel.

Our challenge this week is to search out the endued power promises of God through the Holy Spirit and use them as Jesus did.  We have the power in Jesus’ name to bring about a change.  We need to let Him speak through us.

What enemy is coming against you?  It doesn’t have to be a physical storm or tornado, but can be those small things that just aggravate the stuffing out of you.  Memorize these five power tool scriptures and learn how to use them each and every time the enemy comes against you.

Here are 5 Power Tools to Defeat the Enemy

1 - Power over the enemy …

“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” (Luke 10:19 NKJV)

2 - Power Promise from Heaven …

“Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but wait in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on High.” (Luke 24:49 NKJV)

3 - Power for a Purpose …

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you (when you ask Christ into your heart to forgive you of your sins); and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth (basically anywhere).” (Acts 1:8 NKJV emphasis mine)

4 - Power to Increase our Faith …

“… that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.” (to have faith in God’s power, not faith in what man can do) (1 Corinthians 2:5 NKJV)

5 - Power to Keep Calm in Difficult Situations …

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear,
but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV)

By faith Jesus is right there watching the same thing as you are (like He did with the first Disciples during their faith storm when unbelief tried to defeat them).  You can take authority over the evil that is coming against you by faith, because God has already given you (as a believer and child of the Living God) the power to do so.

Don't give into fear.  There is safety and victory with Jesus through any "storm" life hands you!  Ask yourself, how would Jesus command the situation?  Then do as He did.

Learn to speak as the Lord did by staying in continual communication with God.  His promises will manifest.  They have to because the power of God is “endued”, already enclosed in our favor gift pack of salvation!  Read it for yourself, it’s in His letter – the Holy Bible.
