With
a few weeks passed have you thought about what we discussed last time
together?
If
you’re still not convinced let me share two more truths that might sway your
thinking about this marvelous gift of Heavenly favor.
Need
to catch-up? Read part 1 of Everyday Favor
The Truth about God’s
Favor
ü Realization #4: God’s
favor is personalized.
When
I say that the favor of God is personalized you might think that I mean He
plays favorites … well, He does, in a way.
Let me explain.
Salvation by grace (the unmerited favor of God) isn’t just for some, but is open for
anyone who will believe on Jesus, God’s Son.
In this sense God is not a respecter of persons where He will forgive
some but not others.
He will and does
forgive anyone and everyone who repents of their sins and believes in Jesus. This mercy, grace, undeserving favor is
available to every person who will ever walk the face of this planet.
However,
once an individual accepts or receives Christ into their heart through the
prayer of repentance known as salvation, they must realize and accept that more favor of the Lord is theirs as a
gift from God. This is where it becomes
personalized.
So
many believe that grace is only for getting out of hell and fail to understand
that Jesus didn’t die for Heaven’s sake but for theirs. He said:
"The thief (satan) comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they (believers in Him) may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows)." (John 10:10 AMPC)
Now
how are we going to live or enjoy that abundant life He died for without some
kind of favor on our lives?
Unless
a child of God believes that favor can be and is theirs through salvation as
heirs, they will never experience the fullness of walking in God’s favor. How can one receive favor if they don’t
believe in it?
The
same way someone receives salvation (by faith) is how they receive the benefits
of God’s favor – by faith. Psalm 103 has
just a few of the spiritual benefits of salvation that we are not to forget,
favor is among those precious gifts as Kingdom Kids.
Evidence
of God’s favor can be seen by others and that’s the way God planned it so it
will draw people close to Him.
Throughout the entire Bible we read of individuals who grew more and
more in God’s favor, because they believe and received by faith what was
promised to them personally.
For
someone to receive favor they must understand that God doesn’t fulfill a
personal “wish list” just because a person is a believer - on the contrary.
What
God has prepared for your life is personal. It’s yours alone and He has
designed the kind of favor you will need to fulfill the call on your life. Sometimes favor may look similar, but what
you need will not exactly match up with someone else’s particular need.
"And my God will liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus."
(Philippians 4:19 AMPC)
Doing
a “personal” favor is exactly what God does when it comes to helping you reach
your Divine destiny. What He does for
others, He will do for you if it is part of His design for your life.
The
more personal your relationship becomes with Jesus, the more you realize that
everything is for Christ and all about Him.
As you grow closer to God favor will increase, because He knows you have
a surrendered heart.
ü Realization #5: You
have continual favor.
I
think this is probably my “favor” - ite truth about God’s unmerited grace and
favor. With thanksgiving I proclaim it every day of my life.
“For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; with
favor You will
surround him/her as with a shield.” (Psalm 5:12
NKJV)
If
you are a child of God’s you have been made righteous by Jesus not anything you
did. It’s the righteousness of Jesus
which allows us to enjoy the Daily Favor of God that He received.
Are
you a believer? Then by faith you have a shield
of Daily Favor surrounding you 24/7 – 365. In
other words, all the time. Continually!
Jesus Our Everyday Favor Covering
When
I began teaching on creation over twenty years ago, I explained that before the
flood there was a crystalline shield or canopy that surrounded the planet.
Simply put and without getting into major
scientific details I used an example the class could relate to in this
comparison.
One
way to describe it is to look at the shell of a fresh egg. It covers the contents inside as a protective
barrier, however if it is broken the interior no
longer is the same.
Sin
caused God’s protective favor shield around our planet to be broken through a
worldwide flood during Noah’s time. Everything
became vulnerable to destruction, but God provided a way of escape for
believer’s (Noah’s family). In order for
them to be saved they had to enter through the ark door.
For
the New Testament believer, the Ark is a metaphor or “type” of Christ covering
for the Church, whereas it was a means or door of salvation. The Lord refers to this Himself in John 10:9a
saying,
"I am the Door; anyone who enters in through Me will be saved
(will live eternally with Me in Heaven)."
Christians
are covered with the continual Everyday Favor of salvation. It surrounds them as a shield
would protect one from an enemy. This
grace is ours now and for eternity as a promise to those who believe and
receive Christ.
After
Noah’s family was safely inside the ark, GOD (Elohim) closed the door from the
outside, pre-demonstrating that Jesus is the only doorway to God and Heaven. There
is no other way to Heaven. All must enter through Him for access. (Genesis 6:16
and 7:16)
Are you ready to receive the favor that God planned for your life before your birth? I hope that without any doubt you are convinced that Everyday Favor is
a promise of truth for believers in Christ Jesus as Savior.
My
prayer for you is that of the Apostle Peter’s as you come to understanding the
truth about God’s favor.
“May God give you more and more grace (favor) and
peace as you grow in your
knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord.
By His Divine power, God has given us everything
we need for
living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know
Him, the one who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and
excellence.” (2 Peter 1:2-3)
