Something that I am passionate about is creating visuals ... or should I say, vision boards for my classes, home and church.
Having a central place where goals, dreams and desires come together just makes sense. You know what? It makes sense to someone else too.
Are you aware that having a vision board is totally biblical? It is actually God ordained, so for those who are skeptical, you needn't be. Instead, I think you should get rather excited and here's why.
Having a vision board is taking a leap of faith in believing God's promises will come to pass in your life. Look at what God said to the prophet Habakkuk when things just weren't working out the way he planned.
"Write the vision (literally), and make it plain on tablets,
that people who read it will run and tell others the plan.
(from Habakkuk 2:2-4 emphasis mine)
What is the purpose of a vision board anyway? Basically, it's something that takes away confusion!
Actually having a vision board is a way for people to put their thoughts into action in making provision for goals and dreams to become a reality. Creating a vision board keeps people focused and on track by reminding them of their goals and overall life vision on a daily basis.
After he wrote out the vision in plain "English" (Hebrew) so that it was easy to see and understand, God told Habakkuk to display it openly so others could also get on board with it. Having it located in a highly trafficked area allows more to view the vision and share the message of what is trying to be accomplished. It's basically free advertising!
This week I'd like to encourage you to get started in creating a vision board for your life that includes everyone in your family. If your place of worship doesn't have one in the main entrance for "all to read and run with the message" ask the pastor how you can help in creating one for the church so even visitors know the vision of that establishment.
The same goes for families, businesses and singles - everyone must have vision before them or their life will not see the favor of God on it. Scripture tells us that without vision people die, because they never found their purpose! There was no "revelation" of what God wanted to do through them. That is so sad, especially when it doesn't have to be that way. (See Proverbs 29:18)
It's time to get focused on the vision God has placed in your heart. Begin in prayer as Habakkuk did and seek God. Be bold in your requests and believe that one day these things will come to pass. You have God's word on it.
"For the vision is yet for an appointed time;
but at the end it will speak (come to pass), and it will not lie.
Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come,
it will not tarry.
Behold the proud, his soul is not upright in him;
but the just shall live by his faith." (verses 2-4)
God has every desire to see your dreams fulfilled, but you have to make Him a part of them. Bring Jesus into your most intimate desires and dreams. In prayer and daily fellowship let God know that your heart's desire is to serve Him and live by faith.
Write down your dreams and ask Him how to achieve those goals and whether or not that is His will for your life. Together you will come to the best plan for living the Christian life you have always wanted!
Are Christian vision boards really necessary? Do they really affect God's favor on goals? You better believe it, and I want to show you why and how.
To help you get started I'd like to redirect you to two articles I've written on the subject of life vision and God's favor titled: Rearview "Life" Vision and The Sideways Church. They will give you direction along with resources needed for your vision board.
I pray this will encourage you and be a blessing in helping you live out your life vision in the favor of God.
Until next time, God wants to put favor on your vision!
Maybe you don’t know the Living God that I know but would like to have this kind of favor in your life also. Click on the above tab “Tell Me About Jesus” for more information on becoming a child of the Savior.
