The
most powerful weapon we have against the enemy is the gift of prayer. With that in mind, we are uniting in committing
to pray daily for one week covering a specific number of areas asking for God’s
mercy and favor.
On
May 1st America begins a week of prayer, but all nations and
individuals are invited to take part in entering the throne room of God on
behalf of their country according to this passage in the Bible.
“If My people
who are called by My name will humble themselves,
and pray and
seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then
I will hear
from Heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
(2 Chronicles 7:14 NKJV)
The Bible says that when a nation prays, seeks God's face and repents of sin it will hear from Heaven in answered prayer. Therefore, each
day we will pray over one of the seven assigned topics leading up to the
National Day of Prayer on May 7th.
Reminders will be posted daily so you know what area will be covered in
prayer for that day. See here.
“Finally,
let’s draw near to the Throne of Favor (grace) with confidence so that we can
receive mercy and find grace when we need help.”
(Hebrews 4:16
CEB)
This
year the National Day of Prayer board selected "Pray God's Glory Across
the Earth" for its theme based on the scripture in Habakkuk 2:14.
"For the
earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters
cover the sea."
